MeasureMeterics not updating even after several re installs

Hi

I have the current version of daz studio installed DAZStudio_4.10.0.123_Win64

and the current version of Measuremetrics installed DS4_MeasureMetrics_1.4.0.123_Win64

My issue is that I downloaded and installed it because it had been updated for Genesis 8 , or so I thought.

At first , I uninstalled the previous version to install the new version but when the new version was installed, I restarted my pc then opened Daz studio I noticed there were no measuremetric folders for genesis 8, and I did not have to put any serial number in for the plugin as it was active (green)

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling several times with the same results, I even uninstalled dazstudio and re installed but nothing changed.

If anyone has any advise, it would me much appreciated.

thank you.

Figure Metrics contains files relating to figures; the supplemental add-on that is included in the Measure Metrics product, not the Measure Metrics the plugin itself.

  • Normally if MeasureMetrics is working properly, you would go to the folder People > Genesis / Genesis 2 Male / Genesis Fmale 2 > Genesis 3 Male / Genesis 3 Female > MeasureMetrics , however the MeasureMetrics options are not there for Genesis 8 male or Genesis 8 Fenale, why is this ?

Have you installed the update with the Genesis 8 wearables preset - there are three packages, Measure metrics, the Figure Metrics script itself, and the wearables for the Genesis figures that make them work with Figure Metrics. The latter, Figure Metrics Content, has been updated for Genesis 8 support

  • Richard, thank you so much for pointing this out, I didn't even think about the content package, all is working perfectly now.

    thanks once again.

I just purchased Measure Metrics today and have been trying to use it, but it keeps saying it needs updating and giving the error that it needs to be installed and registered. I have repeatedly updated the metadata through Daz to no avail.

The store page says it needs a serial number to get started. Could someone clue me in as to where to find it?

    Thank you.

My MM is messed up for Smart Content and Genesis 8 since sometime after a metdata or DS 4.10.x update (that I am sure of). It still works correctly with Genesis 3 or prior (I seem to remember but not 100% sure).

Now when I want to use MM on a Genesis 8 model I can to go to the Content Library tab (instead of the Smart Content - Utility tab where it used to be) and then navigate to the Scripts folder ad then find the MM scripts in that folder.

Also don't forget - MM works in two steps

    1) Is a duf script that fits a bunch of modeled planes on your model.

    2) After that model if fitted to the character you want to measure and maybe adjust you run the script in the scripts folder that brings up the UI with the measurements.

        i) Click the tab on the right and then put check marks  in each body measurement that you'd like to change. Note that changing some measurements will cause other some other measurements to change even if you don't want them to.

    3) After you are done adjusting the model's measurement there is another script you run to 'clean-up' the MM be removing the models that serve as measuring plains.

If you right-click on its entry in DIM you should be able to copy the serial number, you can also get it from the Serial Numbers page of your account.

Is the Smart Content system running, and are the files where the installer placed them? If it's only those files, and you haven't moved them, you may want to check folder permissions for their location.

I'll admit, that didn't even come to mind when I hit that problem. You have the patience of a saint, sir. Thank you. But, I've got to test that patience a little more, I'm afraid.

I'm not getting the genesis 8 icons, or the figure metrics scripts to show up at all. I've tracked the files down and the file names are there, there's just no information in them -- they all read as 0kb. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Where would I check the folder permissions at? I am having no luck finding them. Is this something I should be looking for in Windows or in Daz?

Yes, I don't rearrange my content unless it's presets or something I've saved from the DAZ menu. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling via DIM & it the DAZ Connect both but I'll settle for just using it via Content Library/Scripts navigation as i don't use it that often.

Actually, I see no content type tags on the Genesis 8 Presets, installed via DIM, though I do on the other figure's presets.

  • Cris PalominoCris Palomino Posts: 11,706

I see content type on all included presets.

  • nonesuch00nonesuch00 Posts: 18,333

I meant not DAZ 3D or PA supplied presets but presets I create myself. Basically I've never rearranged any content from any PA or DAZ 3D. Only files I have created myself (even if they might be derived from DAZ 3D or PA products).
