OK.
I have been using the DIM to install my libraries of content. Things are going mostly pretty well. But I am having one issue still and I'm not sure exactly what the trouble could be.
So...
I can not use the DIM to install any of my Millennium Horse stuff... Now my Horse stuff is a little confusing so I will try to explain it in a way that makes some kind of sense.
I bought the Millennium Horse bundle under a different ID and for some reason that product didn't have a DIM file( not even further down the page) and so I thought I had to just install it manually into my library and go from there. But, none of my add - ons for the horse that I bought with this ID would go in... and I thought it was because I had installed the horse bundle into my Runtime by hand...
but then I had my account updated by DAZ and it included a DIM download version of just the Millenium Horse (not the bundle) and I thought I would just let the DIM install it and then I would be able to put the bundle in by hand and my add-ons should go in, too, right?
But it wouldn't work. Not even the Millennium Horse would go in using the DIM. I keep getting a greyed out bar that says those installs "failed".
Not sure why.
Anyone with any ideas? Anyone else have trouble getting the Millenium Horse Bundle to go in using the DIM?
Thanks
Jaz

Here's a screenshot:
It has just been pointed out to me in another thread that there's a Log file accessible via the Gear icon and a "Show Log..." button, which should give some indication of the precise problem.
Click on the cog wheel in the upper right hand corner and go to the installations tab and post a screen shot. Also post a screen shot like above but with the show details in the bottom right checked so we can see the install path
OK... Did I do this right?
It won't let me copy and paste the whole log file. It says it's too big... but this is the last part in there if it helps:

Is that the right info? What should I be looking for? Anyone?
All I can think of is to check the zip file in your download directory to see if that file exists; DIM is complaining that it could not get the file from the zip to install it.
i just ran the Fantasy Unicorns install with no problems. Check IM00002121-01_LBFantasyUnicorns.zip with whatever zip utility you use.
And just in case - my zip file is 9,879 KB.
I looks like each installer that is failing wants to install the same file
G:/DAZ Poser/Creatures/Runtime/WebLinks/DAZ Productions, Inc/DAZ Free Weekly Download.pzs
I believe that is a common file, and is simply a script to launch a browser to a DAZ page.
Check to see if that file exists before attempting to reinstall. If it does exist you can either rename the existing one or delete it. It may be that the existing file is read only or i n use and cannot be overwritten by the install.
thanks namffuak *smiles*
The files are there....but....
Could it be because I am trying to install the Milhorse stuff into a "Poser" style runtime when the installer looks like it's for DS? If I open the content folder I see a regular runtime in there for Poser, but the first folder looks like this:
So... I haven't tried yet...
but... if I go ahead and install this (or try to) into my DS library (and it goes), will DazStudio let me move it out into the Poser Runtime I want it without freaking out?
new issue...
a while ago I joined a beta testing thing for DAZ... I forgot about it. The work I was doing was still sitting on my pc. It looks like the DIM log thing found it though. I have since deleted it but I am unsure if it will cause me future problems.
Advice anyone?
Could use a little guru help...
Thanks
Try running DIM as administrator -- by default the original DIM ran as administrator, but the subsequent versions do not.
That's what all the DIM zips for DS/Poser content look like; the folder "Content" just means "the content is in here" and is ignored when installing.
I see...
Well, I tried running the DIM as administrator but those 3 files still won't go in... How weird, eh? I don't get it. It's the only stuff that won't go in. I don't know if I should just give up... or should I report it to somebody? Those files the DIM was saying it couldn't find do seem to be in the zips so I don't know..???
Oh and thanks again guys! *smiles* (Sometimes I forget to say it)
Somehow I missed this!!
BUT!!!
THANK YOU!!! IT WORKED!!!! *SMILES*
...omg... I think I'm done.
....well with part, anyway... wish me luck!
