Yep. I do that when I make accidental transfers. :)Thanks. I think I can easily find the "bad" ones by date.
Hello! Because this thread relates to the morph conversions, I have one more question - is there any way to convert in DS4 such Poser PMD morphs as Ultra V4 Noble Nose Morphs (for example) - http://www.runtimedna.com/Ultra_V4_Noble_Nose_Morphs html or i13 BOOM Nose System for V4 - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/i13-boom-nose-system-for-v4/97091? RuntimeDNA page mentions some Beta version of Inject PMD Plugin, that may work in DS4 (as I understood earlier, this old plugin works in DS3 only). Where can I find this beta version? If it doesn't work yet, is there some tool for Poser, able to convert automatically such custom PMD morphs to usual Poser pz2 morphs, which may be converted from V4 to Genesis figures?

I just reinstalled a lot of my library after a system crash and I’m now having trouble with GenX 2 - The problem is transferring a morph from G2M to G2F… strangely enough it works the other way around with morphs able to be transferred from G2F to G2M but at the moment I can’t transfer any morphs from Male to Female.

I guess both problems may come from an incomplete or otherwise corrupted install of Genesis 2. It also may be a duplicate install or something like that.
Problem 1 is most likely because "data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\CloneGenesis2Male.dsf" is not found. Problem 2 looks like some morphs exist twice.
I would recommend to check all your DS content folders and look for "data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female" and "data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Male". Move all of them outside of the content folder (but don't delete them, they may contain other things then the base install you want to keep). Then, do a fresh install for Genesis 2. (If you just did a fresh install, you may also just keep that last install, but be sure it is complete and the only one.)
If it works again, you may try to move other things like additional UV sets and morphs from the old folders back.
I managed to transfer presets for Barliecorn ears , there are 6 different presets, and they show up in parameters as sliders, but how do I get png images to show in my Barlie folder in content library for each one?
Because you can set the transferred morphs directly in Genesis (any version) with the slider in the parameters/shaping tab, you don't need a preset in the content library that would just set one parameter value.
Nonetheless, if you have injection poses for V4 that not only inject the morph, but also set the value to 1 for the injected morph, you can use these poses in the presets folder of GenX to create shaping presets for Genesis in the content library.
Or you can use the "create preset" transfer option in the transfer tab. In that case, you even may set the value manually to 1 in the morph list if the injection pose only injects the morph but doesn't activate it. (You even could have used the "selected morphs (with preset)" mode to do both at once, transfer the morph and create the preset. When creating the presets in the transfer tab, you are prompted for each morph to name the preset and select an image for it.
Is it possible to do all presets at once or does each have to be injected and then transferred one at a time? there are inj morphs for each one that injects the morph and sets to value to 100%.
Edit to add: I like to have a preset in the content library in the folder with the materials that I have transferred to G2 instead of having to hunt through the parameters/shaping tab to find them.
The presets tab will translate several poses with morph values into shaping presets at once. This will also work with INJ morph poses that contain the morph deltas in addition to the morph values.
Edit I do not understand the second part about the morph inj
The second sentence simply states, that you can use the presets tab on both kinds of morph injection poses, those that set values only (and hence should not be called INJ but are called INJ by many people nonetheless), and those that really inject a morph. Just try it, and if it works, don't care about why it works.
thanks, unfortunately I am one of those people who needs to know how and why...lol. I think alot of confusion would be cut out if everyone used the same terms for things, but I will get on with trying these ways to do tranfers. One more thing, where do I delete morphs if I mess them up and need to start over...I know this was asked prior but its a very long thread and I can't find the answer.
Delete them from "Data" folder.
Delete them from "Data" folder.
Thanks cecilia :)
Thanks cecilia :)
No problem, my pleasure. Just keep track of how you name your transferred morph, otherwise it won't be easy to find.
i converted a V4 morph to G2F and the eyes seem a bit out of place. instead of being in their proper place, they are pushed back into their sockets. i’m not sure how to fix it. i dropped the v4 base then the morph injections required, then the morph i wanted to transfer. saved as i was supposed to.
It is not uncommon for custom head morphs, that the injection pose adjusts the eye position to fit the morph. GenX will only transfer this, if the position change is linked to the morph. Otherwise, you may convert the pose in the presets tab with the option "eye position" to get a pose that applies the eye position. Or you simply adjust the eye position in Genesis directly by moving the eyes.
I've had this happen as well. I just selected each eye and manually adjusted them.
D3D (or anyone who may have run into this also), quick-ish question. I've been a happy and productive user of both GenX 1&2 since their inception, though recently I've finally gotten first rate hardware for Iray production. Long story short, neither in studio 4.7 or 4.8 can I get GenX2 to work between neither new or old files on this new rig. I've uninstalled/reinstalled both the plugins and studio 4.7 itself to no avail. (haven't gotten it to work at all in 4.8 but I was guessing that was just a rebuild issue?) Studio recognizes it in the 'installed plugins' section but I don't have a source option anymore when the program is called. I do have the G2 addon as well. Running Win 8.1 64 bit for ref. I've thought maybe it was a serial number issue since I transferred my old files to this rig, but right now I get the green plug-in icon and didn't have the option for a serial box even after uninstalling. I've been doing it by hand since GenX2 has been down and it's driving me up the wall with G1 to G2 figures... Help please!
Add: when I use the load figure for CR2's, it's telling me Figure Not Supported, whether it be G1 or Legacy figures. Sigh

Ah, that came in while I was typing. Will that apply to the release version of 4.8 also?
CHEERS!
No, the release version won't need that.
Oh good, that's something at least.
CHEERS!
I'd read and tried that prior to posting actually and had no luck with 4.8, but that doesn't bother me. Not working 8 4.7 does though! Thanks all the same. I disabled the genX 1 part of the bundle even though it's not installed and got the source option back. Now it tells me it can't find morphs on my figure. Even reinstalled g1 and g2 content and still no luck! Yarg...
If you have any issues with installing GenX2, here's the list of things to check:
1. In the "plugins" folder of DAZ Studio, there must be the file d3dGenX2.dll (Windows) or d3dGenX2.dylib (Mac). Also, be sure you have the correct version (32 or 64 bit), which have the same name, but different file size (the 64 bit is always the larger one).
2. If you have a file d3dGenX.dll (Windows) or d3dGenX.dylib (Mac) in the "plugins" folder, delete it. This is the old plugin for version 1 of GenX.
3. If 1 and 2 are correct, you should have "Genesis Generation X2" listed in the "About installed plugins" dialog with a green plug symbol. If there is an input field in the "registration" column, enter your GenX serial number here. The serial number is found in your DAZ account under "My Serial Numbers".
4. If "GenX" is not listed in the "Panes (Tabs)" menu, press F3 to open the customize dialog and add it manually.
5. If GenX loads, but the GenX tab is grayed and has a "warning" tab with messages that figure definitions were not found, check the DAZ Studio configuration folder for the folder GenX2. If it is missing, search it on your hard disk (installer should put it at least somewhere) and move it there.
To sum it up, GenX needs the following to be installed correctly: the dll or dylib in the "plugins" folder, the serial number, the tabs menu entry, and the GenX2 folder in the configuration folder. To use GenX2 in a not officially supported version like the public beta (at the moment 4.8), you have to move the plugin dll/dylib and the GenX2 folder.
The folders for Windows are:
DAZ Studio plugins folder: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
DAZ Studio 32bit plugins folder on Win64: C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
DAZ Studio Release configuration folder: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4
DAZ Studio Public Beta configuration folder: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4PublicBeta
The folders for MacOS are:
DAZ Studio 32bit plugins folder: ~/Programs/DAZ 3D/Studio4/plugins
DAZ Studio 64bit plugins folder: ~/Programs/DAZ 3D/Studio4 64-bit/plugins
DAZ Studio Release configuration folder: ~/Application Support/DAZ 3D/Studio4
DAZ Studio Public Beta configuration folder: ~/Application Support/DAZ 3D/Studio4PublicBeta
If you did not install DAZ Studio at the default location, you should know where you have installed it and find the plugins folder there.
============================
If GenX doesn't find morphs for Genesis figures, this means that there are duplicate installs for these figures, and the one that GenX finds first doesn't have the morphs, but only the geometry file (this is what GenX looks for initially). Clean up your content libraries and ensure that the Genesis data are located all in a single library. Reinstalling won't help, because in the worst case this will just add anouther double for the data files.
The Genesis data folders are:
Genesis 1: ...\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base
Genesis 2 Male: ...\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Male
Genesis 2 Female: ...\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female
I forgot to mention, if you have a GenX2 folder with only one file GenX.ini in it, this is not the one with the GenX configuration files ...
My GenX2 is working fine, but this is helpful debugging information in case something goes wrong. Thanks for posting it.
Hot damn, success! Your file consolidation was the most helpful for me. What had happened when installing on the new rig is that my main content is on a spinner and the new install went onto the SSD. A quick visit to the Content Manager Maint. and all is well again! I'd moved the .dll's previously but low and behold, Windows had made another user for the public account and dumped my more recent files in there rather than my user acct. Go figure, but thank you for the excellent support D3D!
I am using DAZ Studio 4.6. When attempting to copy morphs Gen2 Male to Gen2 Female, I receive the following error:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the GenX2 and the Genesis 2 Addon.
I am able to copy Gen1 and Victoria 4 morphs to Gen2 Female.
Please help.
Thank you.
I was able to get it fixed. I reinstalled Genesis 2 Female. When I compared the original zip file to the one I just downloaded. The new one contained a morph called "CloneGenesis2Male".
