Will Nvidia Gaming Boost speed render times?

My Nvidia card has a "gaming boost" function that allows overclocking. This may seem like a silly question, but will activating this speed render times at all? And are there any downsides to activating this for rendering?

    Overclocking should speed render times. The only problem would be if your GPU overheated from it, but they are generally designed to ramp down when they reach anything close to dangerous levels.

    Don't expect drastic reductions in render times.
