Can't install or uninstall daz studio thru the DIM on a mac

this is seporate from my pc laptop issue (arrrrg)

I am on an imac I tried to upgrade my daz studio and DIM said it wanted to upgrade then errored out and said it could not upgrade. then it opened fine without upgrading so I tried to download and install daz studio 4.10 but it just hangs for a while on download at 0 percent downloaded and then after 10 minutes or so changes to "download failed!"

I will note here: I have always run as an administator, I think. I have never had another user listed on my computer and I have admin next to my name. I do not know if that is an issue on a mac as Richard H was saying it is not good on a PC on a similar post.

Anyhow I would like to use Daz studio again, how can I do that?

as always any and all help is mucho appreciated.

Running normally from an adminsitrator account will not cause issues, it's actually running the application itself with administrator privileges that's will cause issues.

Have you tried downloading a frsh copy of DIM from daz, rather than running the update in place?

running the DIM or Daz studio? do you mean administrator privliges within the DIM or Studio? Sorry your statement does not really compute for me.

ok I have the studio 4.10 installer downloaded. I think it was stalling out during the auto install process in the DIM. I found the installer in the download folder. so when I try to install it hangs at the point of installing the CIS (is that right?) so I think I am pointed at the wrong folder. what folder should the app be pointed at? I would assume the application folder would be ok? What folder should the content be pointed at?

    thanks

By default the applications would go in the Applications folder, the content in the My Daz 3D Library folder in the documents folder for the Public/Shared user rights.

Just having an admin account and double-clicking the file to run it isn't "running as administrator". Running as adminstrator is (if you use the command line) using sudo, it's something you have to do explicitly each time not somethign that hapens by accident or default.
