Exporting to FBX only saves the bones

As the title suggested, it's [FBX is] only saving the bones heirarchy, not the geometry. It worked a couple of times but for some reason it stopped. I'm importing into Cinema 4D (I even tried Blender, same deal), I know I could export to OBJ but I don't get the bones and the geometry is split into hundreds of separate objects. The reason I want FBX is because the times that it worked, the posing was better on the model than how Cinema handles it. I tried FBX 2011-2014 binary and ascii.
What's going on?

What do you have if you click the triangle next to Genesis 8 Female in the Staging panel at the bottom?
just a long list of morphs labeled "Not Used". No mention of geometry.
