File Format question

Do any of the Daz Programs operate & use the .smd File Format?

I'm attempting to figure out how to do Modeling stuff related to Team Fortress 2 in hope of getting Items added to the game as a form of practice at this stuff, now that my Life has become at least a bit less hectic & chaotic. I found this Tutorial Thread on it, but am having trouble understanding stuff so i'm taking this piece by piece.

    No, you would have to convert to .obj. Remember that you can't use DAZ 3D content to create game add-ons, except for your own use on your local system.

    Looks like it was a good thing I asked about this instead of just trying it.
