I am having trouble creating the directory for DAZ Studio. It keeps showing an error message saying, "Error changing permissions to 040755 in /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1/DAZ3DIM.app/Contents/Framework". I don't know what to do, so if anyone can help me with this problem, I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried repairing permissions? it does sound as if you may have tried using the Run as Administrator command (the Mac equivalent) which can cause permission issues.
Hi, I initially installed the program as an administrator. However, some of the files couldn't be opened and applied to figures. So I created another, non-admin account on my Mac to see to fix this, but when I went to install the program I got the same error: Error changing permissions to 040755 in /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/bin
Any idea how to fix it so that I can see if it fixes the aforementioned problem on the admin account? Thanks in advance!
I believe macs have a repair permissions command.
The issue with applying is not related to permissions in the first place, most probably related to Install Manager and DAZ Studio not agreeing on where things are installed.
The permission error showing is most probably because you are running a program (DIM, DAZ Install Manager), from an account that does not allow sudo-ing (admin account), and then DIM cannot ask for permissions, and as it cannot ask the user for raised permissions it will not have the rights to fullfill the installation, which includes changing permissions on files.
So, always install software from an account with admin rights (which is Apple's way of saying an account that can raise pemissions to do things a normal user is forbidden to do, like tamper with the /Applications directory. Content (that is not plugins), can be installed from a non-admin account as that is installing into the content directory that is not, and very much should not, be inside a protected directory tree like /Applications.
Let's go back to your initial problem, content not loading instead. That us usually because DIM and Studio isn't quite on terms sometimes at new installations on where the content is being installed. I think you should compare what DIM says about installation locations to what Studio says about content directories (you find that in the Preferences->Content and the big button saying Content Directory Manager...
