Empty "preset" tab? Why?

Hey there fellow artists,
I have just upgraded the software to 4.10 version and stumbled upon something...
For some reason, the "presets" section in the surfacing/rendering tab does not display any items. Back in DS 4.8 I had very useful stuff down there. For instance, optimized settings for human iRay or optimized settings for iRay eyes. Now it just won't turn up in the presets. From where I usually applied it.
I went through my files and there are various iRay presets in the library as they should. However, I can access them only through the content library tab which was never the case before and it is quite surprising something like that would happen!
While I can find my way around for various surfaces without the "preset" section, it still does not change the fact that the skin iRay items are gone. I don't understand why. Some of them I think, are included in the default download package, along with DS itself so why won't they show up?

Are the other areas supplied by the Content Management Service (Smart Content pane, Categories and Products in the Content Library pane, or Presets tabs in other panes) working correctly?
No. Smart content pane is empty too, just like preset tabs in other panes.
Despite some of my own, hand-made presets still showing up in a regular library search. I also noticed that, somehow, I lost the clothing smoother plugin for female characters! What gives...?

EDIT:
Okay, I made a little research that may shed some light on the issue...
I went through my backup drive and found files belonging to the "clothing smoothers" set. I compared them to my main drive which I use for all the content. Still, there were no smoothers in DS posing/shaping pane! Note that the files in the main drive were present and identical to those in the backup drive. o.O
As a last ditch attempt, I copied the backup "smoothers" files into the main drive and... the smoother sliders reappeared.
I have no idea why they were not there in the first place. Because... aliens...? I guess...?
Looks like a bug - kind like DS 4.10 needs a refreshment of some files and options to be able to operate them again?
By the way, I can see multiple people complaining here, in the forums, about some of their content missing. Might be the same proble
This sounds like an issue with the CMS database or with communication between the database and DS. I assume, since you haven't mentioned it, that you are not getting the warning about needing a PostgreSQL connection when youstart Daz Studio. What security software are yiu using?
It's true - I get no errors whatsoever. Either on startup or during the actual usage. All content is just right there in "my library" directories but some of it has "phantomized".

Preset tabs are still empty, though presets like iRay Uber and all the material samples can be found in the content tabs.
One thing I also noticed... the program won't allow me to select all surfaces in the scene, turnning them to iRay Uber layers all at once... Which was absolutely doable in the 4.8. Instead, I need to select each individual object and apply iRay layer individually.
Was your previous version 4.8 then, not 4.9.x.x?
Yes, it was 4.8 because I had a break from DS altogether.
Just a moment ago, I read a post about DAZ disconnecting a GPU during a crash! Numerous other users complain about content gone missing, or behaving wildly. Just look at the topic list. 4.10 seems terribly buggy!
I must say that, reading through the forums, I become ever more anxious just by looking at what is happening around here!
To tell you the truth... I would gladly revert to using DS 4.8, but I'm not sure if I can find installation files anywhere around here? Unfortunatelly I did not save a backup copy of the installer...
4.9+ use a different set of database tables for 4.8 - from your symptoms it sounds as if the existing data was not covnerted correctly, leaving the database present and connected but empty to 4.10. This may be a glitch or it may be an issue with 4.10 that didn't affect users who came via 4.9 - I would advise opening a support ticket at this point in case it's the latter, though the former seems more likely. That does assume you were using PostgreSQL in 4.8, of course.
Hard to tell really which one is the case... The argument with skipping a version seems reasonable though.

So as far as downgrading is concenred, is it possible to get version 4.8 from you guys?
When I start a search in the shop I am transferred either to the 4.10 download page or the old 4.5 version. Which is too old.
Generally, I can use the program and content just as I used to, save for these phantomized items. It's just that I have never ever experienced any issues with your software (not even crashes) so it was really hard to miss this time, you know.
I'm afraid that if you didn't keep a back up of the 4.8 installer there's nothing we can do to help there.
Awwww! That's too bad.
Well, anyway thank you for your support Richard.
I'll try to come to terms with the new version then. Maybe I can at least manually transfer presets to the right tab. If any other problems appear I will get back to this topic.
