Shaders try to load like scenes. Can't be found.

On my surfaces tab, with an object selected, I select a texture, and hit Presets.  I browse to Shaders - Iray - Fabric (though all shaders have this problem)

I double click the Fabric-silk-blue icon and I get Would you like to save changes to the current file before closing it?

I click YES and get  Could not open file /Shader Presets/Iray/DAZ Uber/Fabric - Silk - Blue.duf. File does not exist.

I right click the icon again, and pick Browse to file location.  (C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Shader Presets\Iray\DAZ Uber)

There are 3 files for every shader, a .duf, and 2 .png's

Now recently I moved the location of all my Scene and output folders to organize myself a bit, but I did nothing to these folders.

Is Daz just hoplessely broken?

A few people seem to get similar issues, affecting some content. How did you isntall the content, DIM or connect? What security software are you using?

  • OK now it's worse.  NONE of my files can be found.  It's not about installing, I have been using DAZ for about 8 months.  I installed everything with install manager.  Clicking any item in my library gives file does not exist.  I might suspect that I messed up the root library location, but when I click Browse to File Location, all the files are there.

What I did was to move the location of where my projects are so I could use source control on them.  (I moced them all to a My 3D Projects folder.  I would think that Daz is having trouble locating my files in that path, but then why can it find everything OK in Browse to Location?

I'm sorry you are having these issues, as I said they are not unprecedented though they do not seem to be at all common. You didn't answer the question about security software, though I am not hopeful that that is the root of the issue.
