TRansfer, Fit to and other issues

OK, I'm making an armor to use with Genesis8 male character. The breastplate is deformed very oddly when I fit it to the Genesis model. The model under the armpit distorts, and no weighting can resolve the issue. I have to make sure, that the armor under the armpit is not deformed by the collarbones nor the shoulder bend bones. How would you solve this?

Thanks!

Is this with the figure in the zero pose and shape? Remember that the male shape is not zero if you are literally using Genesis, not one of the later figures, so there will be the effect of the projected male morph (you would want to create a custom morph for that).

  • This is the dev character without any change. The shoulder-bend bone drives the polygons, even though the weightmap has been cleared. I don't get how this works here. Documentation is "vague" at best.

So the bone is bent? That will trigger some morphs, and those morphs will be projected into your mesh. You would need to identify the morphs and add custom channels - either with a morph of your own to accomodate the shape chnage or, if that's not needed, just an empty property with the same name. Trun on Show Hidden Parameters in the parametrs pane option menu then find the morphs in Currently Used with the bend applied, get their names by clicking the gear icon on their sliders and selecting Parameter Settings.

Also may be rigidity groups could help depending on the design of your armor. The problem is, there must be parts following the character morphs to adapt your outfit to the character when it is morphed. And there must be parts that don't follow and stay rigid. And they have to mix fine.
