BVH import to Gen3 issues

I have just gotten into animating with DAZ and come across a really annoying issue, from what I hear in the forums it's pretty common though:
I'm downloading an animation file from the internet (tried various ones, let's take the ones from https://truebones.com/ for example) and try importing it on my genesis 3 figure. Limits set to off. The resulting animation is totally weird and doesn't resemle the desired animation at all.
Any general rules I seem to overlook here? Or is it simply not possible to download / import animations that easily?
Thanks and best,
Max

Which version of DS - Help>About Daz Studio? The way in which bones are automatically mapped has changed recently, which should improve BVH import.
I'm using the new 4.10 version
4.10.0.123? Then you should have the updated import code. Do you have any examples of the problems that are freely downloadable?
So this one attached is free and supposed to be working.
I have looked over the bone / node mapping and some of the nodes seem to be either not assigned or assigned wrongly (e.g. lButtock is not assigned, while rButtock is assigned to Pelvis). Could this anything have to do with the issue?
Other than I can't seem to guess why it's not working.
Yes, I see what you mean. I tried assigning the buttocks from the BVH to the thigh bend bones (not that I expected that to work, but it would at least allow me to have both assigned) with unproductive results. Please open a Support ticket on this, unless anyone else can offer a better mapping that will work with BVH fiels holding Buttock bones.
Hi, people should be aware that the many BVH files available
online will not all yeild similar results when imported to Daz genesis 3/8 or even G1-2.
The Major issue with genesis 3 was that it did NOT accept BVH data that was generated in professional programs like Iclone or Motionbuilder using the actual genesis 3 Rig in those programs to create the motion.
This was not the case with G1-2
With version 4.10X Daz has only corrected an internal
incompatibility between its program and its own native Flag ship figure.
This does not mean G3/8 will now accept any & all random BVH Data floating about, where the G3/8 Skeletal rig was not even involved in the Data creation at all.
