Property Editor Pane is causing me pain.

Since installing the Genesis 2 figure, if I'm working with the Genesis 1 figure and open the Property Editor pane it causes Daz Studio 4.6 to crash.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a coincident that this happened after installing the Genesis 2 figure or has the new figure somehow messed things up? Any ideas for a solution?

The more you gather morph for your sweet gen1, the more property editor easy crush.

As for me, about Gen1, Now I can not use proeprty editor without moving morphs to another directory tempolarlly.
Load 30 minute, after that when I tweak something easy cursh.

but if I select Gen2FE, there is no problem.
(I doubt if,, DAZ hope to not increase genesis property for many user anymore,
for obviously problem of property editor ? ^^;)

My suggesiton way is,, you move all morph to another ds content directory without keeping some basic morph.
I make two directory now. 1 is default MYlibrary. 2 is Morphlibrary
if I need to tweak some property, I move morph from Morphlibrary In data to Myrlbrary data folda.
then remove the Morphlibrary from cms tempolary (it means just hide morph from CMS)

but these manually translation must cause problem without carefully tweaking,,
I sometimes move different location,, and fluctuate.

DAZ may find way to remove this problem I believe.

I think there are aready other report about property editor problem (and genesis load all controller)

Even moving all my morphs to a temporary holding folder doesn't fix the problem.

if it can not work for you, you may need to check your log file,
Can you open propertyeditor about simple clothing figure?

if it can open,, you may try to re-install gen1 with clean status,
and check how it work,,Sorry I can not find other way.
or I may try to isntall ds 4.6 again,, then send support ticket with my PC status (windows 7 , CPU, memory etc)

when do you find the problem with gen1 ? I think there is no refference with gen2F isntall .
but I hear other user find problem after update ds to 4.6 with genesis1 starter essential.

    Well this is incredibly frustrating.

Since installing the Genesis 2 Female figure I can no longer make morphs for the Genesis 1 figure. It's almost as if Property Editor has been completely disabled for the Genesis 1 figure once you install the Genesis 2.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

[edit] If I open the Property Editor, then leave Daz Studio running for over an hour without touching anything it finally loads and works okay. But there's gotta be a better way to get the Property Editor working than this.

Arrrrghhhh!!! I've deleted and re-installed Genesis 1 and still no dice. Even waiting a few hours for the Property Editor to load isn't working.

The Property Editor is working for everything else except the Genesis 1 figure. This makes no sense.

The Property Editor just shows up as a black box. Clicking on anything crashes Daz.

    Hi, ghasty,,, so that,

I told you,, you may better try again,, hide many genesis morphs which you need not to set ERC,
or for your current work, from proeprty editor.

even though you clean uninstall gen2F, your problem of genesis will not be removed.

then it is so annoying, but the way

The Property Editor just shows up as a black box. Clicking on anything crashes Daz

is perfectly same as me. then it is usuall behavor,, I need to wait property editor load all morphs
    without clicking.. it cause ds crash. yes as you did ^^;

if you add new ds contents directory for many morph which you need not at current,
and when you use property editor, hide the morph directory,,
it short cut the terrible loading time. install and uninstall genesis has no meaning.
but if you uninstall genesis morph, it work.. (but you need to uninstall many morphs,
so just move it,,, and hide it..

the difference of loading time are caused by how many properties the figure have.

I can delete all morphs except the one morph I am working on and the results are the same. Property Editor for the Genesis 1 figure simply no longer works and nothing I do fixes this.

Any luck? I am having the same issue right now, it took 30 minutes to open the property editor up. Then I right click to do ERC freeze and crash :(
Three times so far. Make that four times. Damn.

It's hit and miss. I have a folder which I use as a holding pen to hold all my morphs and I'll dump everything there except the default daz morphs. Some times the Property Editor pane will kick in after a few minutes, but be sluggish, other times it's no dice and if I even look at it funny it crashes the whole program.

I'll take note of what other programs I have running at the same time when it next acts up. Maybe it has something to do with whether or not I have Hexagon running at the same time.

The speed at which the property editor loads is proportional to the number of properties you have for the figure. An update for the Genesis 1 Starter Essentials was released recently. This increased the number of properties available for Genesis 1 (just out of the box) which is generally a good thing, the only downside is that the more properties a figure has the longer it takes the property editor to load up. If you have the latest version of Genesis plus a whole host of morph packs installed it could theoretically crash studio if it eats up too much memory.

One work around is to remove the Control Rig folder out of the Genesis Morphs folder prior to using property editor. I don't recommend this for new users though. Once you are done using property editor make sure to replace the control rig folder.

The software team is aware of the issue and is looking into it.

any solutions to this? i tried removing the control rig folder, that didn't help. I even moved all the morphs out, no dice. This is the first time I've had this issue and I don't think I have any new content installed since the last time I tried this. I even tried disabling a bunch of plugins. Now I'm stuck and can't continue on a project. Any help is appreciated.

Ya know what, i just realized this is in the wrong forum, going to open a thread where people can see it.

As I said above the solution is currently in beta, and is slated to be included in the next General Release of DAZ Studio. If you need a solution now, I recommend you use the current DAZ Studio Beta. You can install it side by side with your current installation of DAZ Studio. This means you can use the beta for setting up property groups etc, and use the general release for everything else.

I installed 4.6.1 and am still having this problem. It's really a major setback again and again. Any ideas? I even tried the tips in this thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/28510/ but haven't been able to get it to work.

to be clear, anytime i press accept on the ERC freeze window, it runs for a few seconds then crashes. this is even if i use a clean content directory with only the base genesis 2 female morphs...

That's been confirmed as a bug and will be fixed, I think, in the next release.
