I have posed a rider onto a motorbike, is there any way of grouping these two together so that I can move them and rotate them as one?

Yes, DS now has a Group option available from the Create menu.
Select the items in the Scene pane that you want to be included in the group, you can then move them as one. You can still select them individualy in the Scene pane as well if you wish.
You don't need grouping for this, simply parent the rider to the bike. Right-click on the rider in the scene and click on Change "[name of object]" Parent. In the new pop-up make sure Parent in Place is checked then locate and select the object to parent to in the list. The list always opens with hierarchy for every model fully expanded which can make it difficult (and scary for some) to locate the right object. When I have several object I want to move together I prefer to create a Null and parent them to it. To me Grouping is more an organizing tool, for example to keep a figure and its clothing and hair as one collapsible and hide-able group.
That all makes perfect sense to me now,
Thank yall so much...
