Looks like Salt Lake City will be getting it's first ever Comic Con by 'Dan Farr Productions', the big guy who co-founded DAZ3D. Lot of big names already set up and by way of Facebook, a lot of folks already going. My wife and I are now planning on going and it will be our first too.

THE 2013 SALT LAKE COMIC CON SEPTEMBER 5-7, 2013 AT THE SOUTH TOWNE EXPO CENTER

I hope to run into any other DAZ and Poser fans that may go.

If a lot of Users and PA's plan to attend I bet we could arrange some DAZ 3D get together here at the SLC office!

I swear if I ever get back into drawing comics again it will be in part for the conventions. Being a guest at a convention and sitting in the green room is one of the coolest things ever. Get up in the morning, stumble into the green room bleary eyed, sit at a table and have breakfast and who sits down at my table across from me? George Takei!

It took all my composure and willpower not to completely geek out "C'mon... be cool Ghastly.... you're a guest here too... be cool" but on the inside my fanboy brain kept screaming "YOU'RE EATING BREAKFAST WITH MISTER SULU!!!"

Ron Glass sat with me the next day, we talked a bit about Firefly and then he was really surprised when I started talking to him about Barney Miller. He joked "you're probably the only person here who even knew I was on that show". He was genuinely surprised when I told him Abe Vigoda was still alive (and an internet meme).

The green room is like a whole other convention inside the convention. I always have the most awesome time there.

    Good times... good times.

I think Fan-Expo in Toronto will also always have a sweet spot in my heart. It was when a female fan asked me to autograph her breasts I knew I had finally made it as a celebrity.

    *sigh* Being a has-been sucks. ;P

I attend fan-expo in TO every year, I'll have to keep an eye open for those signed breasts... ; - P

She asked me to draw a tentacle monster on them too. My friend Pete who is an author was there and when I finished he said "You freaking artists. Nobody ever comes up to a writer and says 'write a short story on my breasts'."

Is DAZ going to be at the Salt Lake Comic Con in April 2014?
