No difference between gaussian and michell pixel filters

Almost a year ago when I first tried to switched from the gaussian filter to the michell filter there was a big diffrence in sharpness of the rendered image. Today I noticed that the two pixel filters make zero diffrence to my render,

When in iray preview changing between michell and gaussian filter does nothing and does not even reload the rendering process, changing to traingle or box filter reloads the rendering process though.

Have my memory taken an vaccation and there never was any diffrence between the gaussian and michell filters ?

The preview render and the final render are not exactly the same, nor have they been previously. The difference in render time between the two should be a clue.

There is zero difference between the gaussian and mitchell filter for me on a final 4096x4096 render. I would guess since the triangle and box pixel filter does restart the preiview render switching between gausisian and mitchell would to but no luck.
