Well I have purchased about $4,500 worth of models from the DAZ Store. This was over a 4 year time spand. DAZ  has a great user inter face and is much better that poser: however,

I have totally lost interest in DAZ and no longer have the time to play with these 3D Models. So I have decided ti delete my entire collection. This way I will be done I simply find sketching

    and painting more creative.

Instead of deleting it, why not share/give your account to your friend as it's obvious that money is not the issue if you're willing to delete it anyway.

Because the EULA doesn't allow that, which was rather the point of the thread.

  • Ask DAZ if you can sell your ACCOUNT. Selling single item licenses would open up a mess probably no company is prepared to deal with.

I think the answer is very obvious

no a DAZ customer cannot sell his entire collection of DAZ products to a friend legally

    its rather clear cut

however if you shared an account with someone who would know especially the same household which is addressed, say your sibling, child, parent, husband etc and if you slowly changed your account details as you moved, remarried, got a different email address etc, these are issues that really cannot be discussed in a forum for any product or service and answers cannot be given only the legal ones asked, you have an account and don't actually own anything only the right to use it in renders and videos etc. and obviously no two different people could not legally do that with content from the same account.

  • You do not own anything you buy here. It belongs to Daz and the content creators. What you pay for is a limited license to create a render and that is it. If you want to do something else you need a extended license.

  • As many of us have thousands spent, I hope DAZ does announce some way for us to pass on licenses to our heirs...

The EULA says quite clearly  one license  one person,  each person needs there own license

This was my very point, though less specific, more implied... Though I only read the OP's responses instead of the entire 2-page thread, as I'm not that invested in it...

It's a "personal," "non-transferable" license. It can't get any clearer than this. One might wonder how a business entity can use this license legally, but the intention of the EULA is clear in the sense that it cannot be transferred to another person.

I really can't understand why this question was answered 4 months ago,  the answer has been reiterated several times since and yet people are debating.

I think it is time to send for Grumpy Cat

That is too adorable to deter me, though I get the point and I'll drop it before you use your shillelagh on me...

If the EULA holds is based on the local jurisdiction. According to european law, a license can be sold in a customer to customer relationship and this would apply to the licenses for DAZ content as well. If the EULA stands may be based on the local jurisdiction and cannot be answered without a legal advice. The European Union sees a license like a property that can be transfered from a private person to another one. This certainly doesn't apply in the US and in a business to business relationship, as it is based on customer rights.

Trigger for the discussion in Europe was the Used Software Business case, as this company provided a platform where user can sell Microsoft and other licenses from one end user to another.

No need to be grumpy wink
