Looking for recommendation of what you think the best current G8 Asain morphs and skins are (they can be separate).

I definitely have this and Raiya's HD morphs for G8 in mind, plus I just bought Sickleyields Asain morphs, plus was looking at rarestone.. I jsut need more I guess!

And I really like Essentials' Lina for G8F product over at Renderosity.
I love Chiyo, but unfortunately the skin doesnt hold up to well, compared to newer textures. The diffuse is beautiful though.
I hadn't thought of Michiko, I'll put her on the list!
Don't think it's the textures; I've transfered them over and like the results.
Not claiming that these are the best, but here's Liu Ling and Lin Ling (both for G8F, for sale elsewhere, Google is your friend), alongside Yumi for Aiko 8...

If you reduce the saturation of the diffuse maps by about 40% and then put those maps in the Translucency color (use a G8 shader setup to replace the maps), it works pretty well. I did that with Kyle 7 and it turned out pretty darn good :).

Shes G3, she might transfer nicely, but I like Hiromi by Ceridwen. Shes at rendo.
Also, I like Yang for G8 by DaYing. Ive only found Yang at renderotica. So please be warned, renderotica is an Adults Only site. If you go there you may see some stuff that you find objectionable. Maybe she is available somewhere els, im not sure.

Speaking as an East Asian person, Hyuna for G8 is probably the closest in terms of getting (East) Asian skin correct, especially the subsurface.
I've had surprisingly good results with older Asian figures, especially with tweaking Anagenesis 2 and other products.

Her base morph is Rarestone's Minami - but she's been heavily modified with Rarestone's Face Morphs, a few of Thorne's morphs, and some morphs of my own. Her brows are fibermesh and her skin textures are Victoria 7's (with minor modification to remove the brows) with Altern8 settings applied.
While she's been heavily modified, I think that Minami is an EXCELLENT base character for creating East Asain characters. :)
You can ger DaYin's characters at CGBytes.com, which is run by Renderotica's parent, but without the most of the -erotica parts. Most but not all -- there are still a few things at CGBytes that may discomfit a bit, but not nearly as many.
I picked up DaYin's Nguyen there, a Vietnamese character. Haven't rendered her yet, though.

Thanks for the thanks :) There's also a lot of variance within East Asian skin tones too, as some are quite a bit darker than others.
The other hard part about working with ethnic characters is that it's very easy to get the facial structure incorrect even with the correct skin palette. It's hard to see from the front, but super evident when side profiles are taken.
Or even subtle details like eye-folds...
Thank you! :D She's been a "work in progress" in my attempt at getting as close to realism as I can get. I think we probably still have quite a ways to go before we get real realism, but it's fun to see how far we can push it and what we can try to make the figures look a bit more realistic. :)
Oh yes, she is one of my faves! I need to work with her more. :)
Is it me or there is something wrong with the epicanthic fold in all of them? Their eyes don't look like the eyes of any East Asian person that I've ever met in my place (mostly of Chinese and Korean ancestry). The general shape or the face doesn't really match, either. I'm trying to use DAZ3D to create an educational graphic novel for the kids in our school, which is very "multi-ethnic", and I'm hard pressed to find faces (male and female) that would make them feel identified with the characters.

Did you rework the eyes and how ? ( if you don't mind explaining ? )
I've been looking for this exact type of asian face with extremely slanted eyes (wich I find very noble !) as you can find on some japanese people sometime... ( see attached photo for an exemple )
