Missing Files Part II

I am having problem with various features not loading right. I used the installer system to do it correctly and it still doesn't work.
It feels like the entire universe is trying to keep me from being able to effectively use this thing.

More details please - which product, and which files? Are you using the default locations for content or have you changed them?
@Zipper730
The content path in Studio AND the install path in DIM have to match. In DIM, the download path and the install path are not the same and should not match.
Everybody: I'm using Sierra OS 10.12.6
Richard Hazeltine: I'll pull up some screen-shots in a little bit.
I'll put up some images for all to see, but from what I saw so far, I've noted under smart-content, the following missing under "All Files"
Add levels of detail; cl-black; cl-blue; cl-green; cl-red; cl-white; Create Advanced Iray Node Properties; dzDefault; dzDistantLight; dzPointLight; dzSpotLight
Under "Animations", I'm missing the following
lt-pulse; lt-strobe; ps-ball_up; ps-hunch; ps-leg_out; ps-lift_arms; ps-proud; ps-widen_stance; rt-hold_still; rt-rotateY_90; rt-translateX; rt-translateY; rt-translateZ; v4-Blink; v4-BlinkTwice; v4-breath_nod; v4-BrowSqueeze; v4-EyesSquint; v4-LipsPucker; v4-MouthFrown; v4-MouthSmile; v4-MouthSmileOpen; v4-MouthSneer; v4-NoseWrinkle; v4-TongueLickLips; v4-TongueStickOut; v4-v3
Under "Lights", the following is missing: dzDistantLight; dzPointLight; dzSpotLight
To Richard Hazeltine: I can add more to this if you like...
To Fastbike1: I'll uninstall and then re-install and try and duplicate what you did
First off, not everything is in Smart Content, that's how it is, and not those things, like lights, that you add from the DAZ Studio toolbar.
Also, older content does not have any smart content tags at all, so the good old Content Browser is your friend.
As fastbike1 said, validate that DIM and Studio are using the same default content path, which it seems to do as you only miss stuff that I think mostly does not exist in Smart Content.
if you have problems with the CMS (Smart Content), usually you miss most of the installed content, not just pieces. And something that does not exist in the Content Browser will not show up in the Smart Content either.
Totte & fastbike1
I'm not sure what you mean by default content path? It might sound stupid, but I installed the program using the installer. I can take screencaps through the entire process if you guys would like and I could help you see what's going on...
Since a picture is worth at least 1000 words, I've taken screen-caps through the installation process.
This might be useful for illustrating somethign I might be doing wrong that I'm unaware of...
The "Show Details" button... is that what you mean by the content path?
The install manager has four sub-divisions
Accounts
Downloads
Installation
Applications
With Downloads, I clicked on a few things: I don't know what the default setting is... should I have Mac 32-bit and 64 bit selected? I'm honestly clueless here
I'm going to sleep soon, but I have the download and install directories separate.
Still the following things come up: Photoshop bridge won't install right, I'm not sure if RareStone's morphs are causing some problem that it's not worth, and what does Hexagon do?
I'm not sure why I'm missing files if everything's supposedly kosher.
As for the requirements for 4.10... how does it compare to before?
Content path in DIM: The paths shown under Installation
Content path in Studio : Preferences -> Content Tab -> "Content DirecroryManager..." - Button
Totte,
Reply 1: The installation path doesn't look like mine, I have just Daz3D/My DAZ 3D Library
Reply 2: This is used once you've already installed the program, right?
Yes, everyone have their own if you change the default to use another disk for example
Yes, but that is where it looks for content. Content and program are two different things.
Totte
I'm looking at the Content Directory Manager and I have the following
Content Sets
Anything wrong here?
Which one is DIM installing to for DAZ content?
Totte,
Honestly, I don't know: Basically normally I just use the auto-instlaler and it just does it's thing.
Okay, let's start this again: Let's discuss this like you're dealing with a guy who knows almost nothing about computers and has used auto-install features all the time.
Who do I gotta blow to get this thing to install right? Also for some reason it seems to ask for a license number for Hexagon 2.5 requiring me to add a product that's essentially free to my cart, then demands a credit-card number for something that is free, then lists it as being not free?
Click the "cog" in DIM and check the Installartion Tab
I have the same problem. About 20% of my folders are empty according to DAZ 4.10 Pro.
I just brought and installed Surge, through the installer, and my folder is still registering as empty.
First, that is Content Directory and not smart content if I understand the screenshot correctly. In the Surge case, (I dont have that product so I dont really know), but is there anything in Materials, and if you rightclick and show folder, in your windows explorer or navigate there, is it empty? Sometimes with large quantities of content, the browser needs to be nudged, move one item up and down again, to show whats there, something with caching, disk caches etc.
You obtain your serial number from your Daz profile page. There is a list of purchased items serials, which sometimes need to be enetered, as the products were previously NOT free, and may not be free in the future.
https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers
Daz3D site -> [Profile], [Orders], [Serial numbers]
You can put the serial into the Daz3D program, at the [Help]->[About installed plugins]->[Some program/plugin]->{Enter serial}
For Hexagon, you may also just have to enter it on the pop-up or help/register-product page.
@Totte
What do I adjust after hitting the cog?
@dylan_borg_d673e29d8d
1. Where do you get surge?
2. Why do I need to buy a program to do run a program that is supposed to be free?
@JD_Mortal
I did what you described and anything that requires a password is installed, or I don't know the serial number for it. What I do have disabled is: DAZ Studio Advanced Bundle and its sub-folders; Game Developer Bundle; Layered Image Editor
Installation paths
You purchase it from the store.

Program is free, content is not, two different things. Even if someone gave you a car, you would still have tp pay for gas.
Your serialnumber to Studio is in your accounts profile in your DAZ account here on the web.
@Totte,
How do I adjust the installation paths, and most importantly where do I route/re-route them to?
I know this sounds stupid, but I honestly am not very knolwedgeable about programming: I'm just trying to make a graphic art program that has potential work...
Tell me if this would be of any use... I employed it and things run a little bit smoother now
