can not open any file

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

hi all 

since yesterday im not able to work with DAZ studio cause i cant open any item on it

every time i get could not open file error

here i attach a image:

any help is welcoming

    You have imnstalled the Genesis Starter Essentials for the various generations of Genesis I presume

    How did you install - Connect (from within Daz Studio) or Install Manager?

    thru DIM and the files are on the path DIM made on its instalation

    If you find the actual product, in the products tab of Smart Content, and right-click on it do you have an Install option or an Uninstall option?

    uninstall option

    OK, that means it was at some point installed via Connect - and now that is the reference DS is using, but the files aren't there. try the uninstall option, then see if the files a) are still listed and b) load.

    i have used 'uninstall option' from products tab of smart content. i have unistalled genesis 8  starter essentials. it has changed to grey icon and appears the install option now

    That means that the Content Managment System isn't seeing the Install Manager install fro some reason. If you go to the Content Library and look under Daz Studio Formats>My Daz 3D Library>People>Genesis 3 Female do you se an icon for the figure, and does it load?

    yep, i did it and it loaded from that directory.

    when i have done is once uninstalled from product tab of smart content, i clicked again in same place to reinstall. Then went to smart content and now seems that works. i think i have to do it for every package installed.

    seems it works in that way. Thanks a lot for all the help. I will let you know if once done all it works.

    It does sound as if there may be an issue between DIM>CMS>Daz Studio, one thing to check is that you don't close DS and immediately start DIM as that can lead to the PostgreSQL database being shut down as DIM is isntalling (and so the content not being registered).
