Converter - G3M to G8M

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I see a few posts on this, but I got kinda lost, so wanted to start fresh. I want to make a Genesis 3 Male figure (Simon) into a Genesis 8 Male Figure. I was directed to this link, but there are a few things that come up differently on my computer than in these directions, which I found out through trial and error last night.

I got to the last set of 7 instructions and got stopped at around number 5 (SOOO CLOSE!!) I got the attached error. Wondering if anyone had any experience with this? What did I do wrong? If I find the answer, I will be sure to update this thread.

My first thought as to why this didn't work is because I started with the Simon G3M Figure and a Basic G8M figure, but I couldn't seem to find a G3M base model, which I totally thought I downloaded months ago... I found a G3F base model, but not the G3M base model.

Anyone have any suggestions?

    I think your mistake happens typically when both models used are not set to be subdivision 0 & at the 'High' resolution instead of the 'Base' resolution. 

    All a key thing to watch here is VERY IMPORTANT:

    1) 1st step is to do a 'Transfer Utility' transfer of the Favorited Morph(s) from G3 to G8.

    2) Export the G8 with the transferred morph(s) as an OBJ file.

    3) Now open a new G8 and use Morph Loader Pro to import the earlier exported OBJ as an morph target for G8.

    If you don't do those steps correctly as she outlined in her tutorial then you get the error message you got. You error message sort of hints that you exported a G3 as obj and tried to import that G3 obj export as a morph for G8, as you saw, that won't work because geometry doesn't match.

    I think I need someone to walk me through this a little more. I am still missing something. Is there another link? I don't seem to have all the screen shots I need to see what I'm doing... Any tips? Maybe I could chat with someone at the same time?

    In the signature for Singular Blues in the linked comment is a PDF file that RedzStudio on how to do a similar tutorial that you are failing at in different words. Same thing but explained different. Maybe that will help you.

    Old thread here I know, but has anyone actually successfully transferred a G3 male morph to a G8 male?  I just read that Singular Blues will not make a morph for Genesis Male so before I try and follow the instructions for Genesis female and hope it works on males I just wanteed to know any success stories or problems encountered.
