I am having problem with 4.6

I have having problems with 4.6. I cannot find any of my objects. I have been using 3.1.2 almost exclusively for my graphic novels. I have been trying to update to 4.5 and then 4.6. I still have not learned to navigate the 4.5 and 4.6, in spite of the Youtube and other tutorials. I purchased Genesis Victoria 6. I do want to grow with DAZ but, I have been blocked by the new methodology. I must have more than 800 objects. And yet, even when I direct 4.5 and 4.6 to my content directories, they see everything but the actual object itself. I am sure the problem is with me, rather than the program. The tutorials do not seem to help because they instruct me assuming I have my objects.

What do you mean by "they see everything but the actual object itself"?

By that I mean, I can see objects in the Content Tab, and keep drilling down but at the end, there are no objects.

How did you install your content, and to where? Did you install it yourself from the downloaded ZIP files, or did you use the DIM?

Do you have your content directories listed as BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats in the Content Directory Manager?

If you installed yourself, did you drop the content folder in the ZIP file into the My Library folder? If so, you will need to take all of the content out of it, and move it all up one level so that it is directly inside the My Liibrary folder.

    I used DIM.

I am able to use all these objects, except for Genesis and Victoria 6, in my Daz 3.1..2

None of the Generation 5 for 6 figures (Genesis, V5, V6 etc, will work in DS3 at all. They have completely different rigging to Gen 4 and earlier.

They will only work in DS4 or higher, was that your only problem?

No, I know that Genesis would not work in DAZ 3.1.2. I was only elaborating on my earlier response. I cannot access any of my files in 4.6.

Note that sometimes it takes a while for files to become visible. If you change folders in quick succession, it hasn't had a chance to 'read ahead' for the icons so can occasionally stall when trying to load them. If it doesn't appear after waiting a while, try swapping to the Smart Content tab and back again or right click anywhere in the library and choose 'Refresh'

By default, DIM installs files to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library if you did not change that, then that is where your files are installed to, and you must enter that as a path for both DAZ Studio AND Poser Formats in the Content Directory manager.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Contetn Directory manager, and make sure that the path to My DAZ 3D Library is listed.

Due to the relatively small size of my C Drive, I directed DIM to install on my external F: Drive. My DAZ 4.6 is also loaded on my F Drive. In the Daz 4.6 preferences, my F drive is listed among the drives in my directory.

Can you post a screenshot of your Content Directory manager, with the Poser Formats and DAZ Studio Formats expanded please?

I do not know how to get a screen shot of my Directory.

I have nearly 900 DAZ objects installed. And yet, only the Camping items are accessible. I do not know what makes this item special. They are located in the same folder as all my other items. Until I can get this working I will continue to use DAZ 3.

What operating system are you using? If Win7 use the snipping tool. If another version use the print screen key
