Saving an imported file in Daz Studio

I downloaded a guitar and added it to my runtime library, it's an .obj so it doesn't show up in Daz Studio and I have to import it when I want it.

So far I've tried importing it then saving it as things like support asset (figure/prop asset) and even a scene, both give me a .duf file that doesn't show up in Daz Studio. I've also tried exporting it as a .cr2 file but that asks to select a skeleton from a blank list.

I don't think I'm trying to do anything too fancy here, I just want to save it in a format that shows up in Daz Studio so I can add it to the props folder in my categories for easy access.

Any help/advice appreciated

The item will show if you place it in a folder listed under Other Import Formats, though of course it won't have a thumbnail.

Where are you saving the .duf file? It needs to go in a Daz Studio Format content directory, not anywhere in the Data, Readme's, or Runtime sub-folders.

  • Hi Richard,

Thanks for that, it does indeed show up if i add my runtime folder to the other import formats, I guess it threw me a bit with the textures showing up in poser formats>materials and pose.

    Thanks again, much appreciated :)
