Fresh install Iray problem

I can't get it to render past 41 iterations for some reason. I've fiddled with the settings, but nothing seems obviously wrong. The defaults looked okay. I turned a couple of other things on, just in case but all I managed to do was my the figure look glowy. I increased the max time. Turned on the Architectural and Caustic Samplers. Also turned on the Noise and Bloom Filters (I'd guess that's where the glow/haze is coming from). Just in case I updated my NVidia driver for my Titan X. It is rendering on the GPU, though both CPU and GPU boxes are checked. Just a basic scene, G8F with a couple of primitives with shaders for floor and backdrop, an Elianeck light set and maybe a Dreamlight Studio HDR.
Any ideas?
I may start the scene from scratch and try again, turn off the bloom and see if I have better luck.

Is it stopping at 41 iterations and still noisy? What is your convergence ratio set to?
Convergence was set to 95%. I've since tried a base G8F with some modding and minimal clothing, two primitives for wall and floor after a restart and no lights and everything seems okay, well except it crashes after about ten renders or so. But apart from that it works.
I've gotten the impression that the latest version of DS is not the most stable perhaps, so the crashes I'll attribute to that I guess. It was the weird renders at default settings I couldn't wrap my head around.
