Render problem with Look At My Hair

Hello DAZ gurus,

obviously I am doing something wrong, but after experimenting a whole evening and read through the doc I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. So now I am searching for the wisdom from you.

Here is what I am intending to do: I want to create a goutee for a char from me.

Attachment 1 is how the material setting looks like
Attachment 2 is how it looks like in LAMH
Attachment 3 is the export setting back to DS
Attachment 4 and 5 is how it looks like in DS (4 is shader setting and 5 is render setting)

Now, in the most cases with these settings the render starts with an error (error during rendering) and if I try to start the render again, it will say "Unable to render, renderer is already in use".

Occasionally the render do run for the first time, but the hairs are not visible. And if I set the density very very low (100 or so) by export, there the result is very strange (attachment in the next message since I can only attach five files here).

If I export as .obj, then the render will run, but the result looks very ugly, the color of the created hair is always black (even if I change the material color in LAMH to white), and it looks just like a black block.

So what did I do wrong?

Thank you very much for your helps.

Greetings
P.

And here is how the render result looks like with the settings above (when I export as RenderMan):

I believe, no sure, we must wait for a update to resolve this problem, Free pluging was updated but purchased pluging needed more work.
For your obj version try with a shader for color it.

Not sure if it's causing your issues but according to the image of the export back to DS you're telling it to render with 1,000,000 hairs in that small area.

I just tried creating a similar hair and using the default 10,000 hairs and it worked fine. Bumped it up to 50,000 and I was able to render but it was much slower. I'm not even going to try doing 1,000,000, I think my machine would explode if I did.

Try reducing that down. Even the default of 10,000 hairs in that small space is to much if you ask me. Probably need to drop it down to between 500 & 1000.
