Search failure and 'content cluster'... help needed

Hello guys,

I have a couple of very annoying problems that I could do with some help or advice on please.

1)  For no apparent reason my Daz Search has suddenly stopped working and finds absolutely nothing from my content folders.

I've changed nothing, my settings are still the same now as they have been for months, I've not changed any locations or paths to anything and yet I can no longer search anything.

If anyone has any idea how I can put this issue right I'd appreciate it very much.

2)  The next thing I've noticed, 'Content Cluster' - Can anyone tell me where this folder and all it's contents are suppose to be please? Yet again for no apparent reason this folder has now been placed inside 'My Library',

it's never, ever been there before but since yesterday it has now been placed in my content list along with all my other stuff.

Any ideas please?

The default Content Cluster location is (for Windows) C:/Users/YOU/AppData/Roaming/Daz 3D/cms/ContentCluster. its location is set in Edit>Preferences>cms tab. Presuambly if the old database has become disconnected that is why the search is no longer working.

Thanks for that Richard, I've now put Content Cluster and all it's contents back where it should be, I still have no idea as to why it moved, I must have inadvertently disrupted something along the way.

However, my search facility is still not working and finds nothing no matter what I search for.

When you say you put the Content Cluster back do you mean you redirected its setting, or that you moved the folder that had appeared in your content directory?

Yes, I've moved it from 'My Library/Content' into 'user/appdata/Roaming', I then redirected the cms tab to find it there, all seems to be OK apart from search still isn't working and won't find a single thing.

Well, that assumes that it was a move initially that caused the problem - if the pointer had been changed, not the folder moved, then moving the folder "back" won't have restored the database. You can reimport the metadata for your content, but that won't include files you saved yourself, unless you had exported user data previously. The reimport metadata command is in the Content Library option menu (the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) in the Content DB Maintenance dialogue - when you check it and click Accept a second dialogue will open listing any user data found, then all the products - there is a single master check-box for each list at the top.

Excellent, thank you Richard. You're right it didn't find anything that I had altered and saved but at least it is searching my directory again.
