How long for a manual install?

So I decided to install the newest version of Daz manually and point the content directory to another HD rather than my near capacity C drive. That was this morning and the Install has been "installing the content management service" since then. Does this process take this long, or is something wrong? It appears to be maybe 5 percent from completion. Nothing seems to be frozen, it just appears to be doing it's thing. Should I look at this as a vacation from Daz for a bit and go see what going on in the real world?

Is this the initial isntall or the first launch of DS? It sounds unreasonably slow either way, but just checking. Also, what security sioftware are you using?
No, not an initial install, and I turned off all my security software. Daz detected the previous installation and I'm assuming over wrote it.
So this is the splash screen message for DS itself? Did you run either DIM or DS as administrator (right-click>Run as Administrator)? Doing that is likely to cause issues with folder pemissions.
No, did not use DIM as I specifically wanted this install to put the content directory on another HD other than the C Drive. I basically installed the program as I would a first time installation.
Clicked cancel on the install pop up with the green bar and it asked did I want to cancel the installation, so I'm assuming it's still in the process of installing though the green bar doesn't appear to be moving.
Initial plan had been that since a computer could have multiple instances of Daz vers. I would install the newest version; set my content directory to where I wanted it, and then delete the already existing content directory ( or move it) that's clogging up my C Drive. Obviously there seems to be some hitch to this plan that I didn't foresee, because my original installation of Daz the first time I ever installed it didn't take more than 10 minutes. This latest install is already on day 2.
I'm still not clear on what it is you were waiting on and have now cancelled. The set-up for PostgreSQL (the Content Managment System) would not have chnaged, if this is a reinstall, so if it's DS then it will be accessing the existing database and settings.
At present the Daz Installation pop up is on my computer with the green bar that shows how far the installation has to go. It says it is installing content management services. At the bottom it has the choices for Back, Next and Cancel. Back and Next are greyed out and the only option I have is to cancel. To see if it was actually doing anything I clicked cancel and I got the next box. "Do you want to cancel the Installation?" I choose no and let it continue doing whatever it is doing.
Actually did a google search, this seems to have occured before. The solution seems to be to shut down the computer, open the task manager and make sure no PostgreSQL instances are running, and start the install again.
We shall see.
Update. The restarting the computer and closing the PostgreSQL instances in the task manager did work. Install took less than 5 minutes.
Thanks everyone.
thanks for posting the fix/result. Many folks don't and having a resolution available for future folks is quite valuable to those that follow.
glad you're back up!
