Blacksmith3D Quarantined on Mac?

Hi,

I just downloaded Blacksmith 3D Pro 7 and can't open the application. I get an error that says that OS X has quarantined the app and it gives me a suggested line of code that is meant to let me correct this problem through the Terminal, but I haven't been able to make it work. It just gives me an error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '//.DocumentRevisions-V100'

Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on how can I fix it?

"Error. It seems that OS X has quarantines this application through a process called 'App Translocation' or 'Path Randomization'. You may be able to fix this problem with the following terminal command... xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine / [FULL_PATH_TO_B3D]/Blacksmith3D.app"

The correct thing to do is to rightclick the application and select "Open", then answer yes, which will tell Gatekeeper that "you know what you are doing". Gatekeeper will then set the correct file attr bits.

    Hi Totte,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm afraid right-clicking and selecting open just brings up that quarantine error message again. Gatekeeper doesn't seem willing to give me a chance to tell it anything.

  • I know this is an old thread, but did anyone find a solution as the terminal entry does not seem to correct this

  • Scratch that - got it working with xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /applications/blacksmith3dv7/blacksmith3d.app is anyone has the same problem.
