Hi - I do most of my animating in Carrara, so not much recent experience with DAZ Studio.
If I load up a figure like Orangutan (from RAW Art's Ape World 2), the 'hair' all comes in green. Not sure if this is supposed to get shaded like other objects - or if this is how Look at my Hair free viewer is presenting where the main guide hairs are.
Would appreciate suggestions on next steps (how to texture if necessary - just want to see how this looks in Studio and if animation rendering is fast enough to make worthwhile (have been told Look At My Hair does not work in carrara)
Thanks

Yes, the green hairs are just guide hairs. You need to render to see the actual hair - the hair should be shaded correctly on any LAMH product you buy. You need to render with 3Delight to show the hair correctly - Iray won't work unless you export the hair as obj and reimport.
Thanks - that was the problem - I had my default setting on Open GL.
The render looks great, and the speed would be fine for stills - but not very practical for an animation of any length.
Do you know if there are any settings / render options that would make this more practical for animations (where even 10 seconds at 24 frames per second means 240 renders?
Thanks for any suggestions.
(and is the commercial LAMH product any faster than the freebie?)
you cannot animate it, it will not sync
the only way you might be able to is with a batch render script, not thried but in theory it should work
that's a shame (about not being able to animate), because it really looks nice in the stills -- thanks for the info
