Cannot move CMS db

I'd like to move my CMS database off of C: because this is an ssd I'm reserving for the OS and installed programs. I'd like to keep data on D:, which is a larger SSD.
I opened Edit | Preferences (after stopping CMS). The next-to-last tab is CMS Settings, and the "Cluster Diretory" was C:/Users/raymand/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms. I moved that to D: (I actually created those same folders on D:, so the only thing that changed was the drive letter.) I renamed the old folder on C: to cms.old so it would not use it. and I started CMS. After getting a busy cursor for a few seconds, it finished working. Then I checked and found that it rebuilt a new cms folder in the old location on the C: drive! The D: drive, where I specified it should go, was untouched. Then I opened the Preference/CMS Settings dialog, and saw it changed the directory back to the C: drive.
I've tried a couple times with the same results. It always reverts my change and moves the cms directory back to its old location on C:
Am I doing something wrong? How can I get it to put the cms db on my preferred drive?

the cms/Content Cluster is the database, the cms folder itself holds settings - including the location of the Content cluster. By renaming the cms folder you cleared your custom settings.

So, how would one move the database (leaving cmscfg.json in the original location)? Or is this not possible?
I probably wouldn't try, export User Data (Content Library option menu>Content DB Maintenance), relocate the database, reimport metadata (assuming that the system hadn't copied the existing database across, it's not soemthing I've tried). You could try copying the Content Cluster folder to the new location.

Thanks for the advice/caution. I'll leave it as is since everything is working fine and the content db isn't taking up all that much space.
That is very interesting. I will try leaving the cms folder alone on C:, but changing the Content Cluster directory option in the CMS settings tab to a location on my D: drive.
What confused me is that in the dialog box, you specify the location of the cms folder, not the cmd/Content Cluster folder. I.e. you specify in what directory you want the Content Cluster folder placed. I don't have time tonight to try this, but it sure sounds like this will do the trick for me. I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks!
Just an update, that is exactly correct, Richard. I changed the preference to a cms folder on my D: drive, and it built a ContentCluster folder under it. I was able to delete the ContentCluster folder from C:.../AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms. Then the only thing left in the cms folder on the C: drive was cmscfg.json. (And if you edit that, you will see that it contains the 2 options from the CMS Settings tab, the port and cluster directory, now on my D: drive.)
Thanks!
