How to Save Clothes That Have Been Transferred

Using Wear Them All, I transferred clothing items made for David 3 to a Genesis 3 character. I then loaded a Genesis 8 character. Using Fit Control, I transferred the clothing items to the Genesis 8 character. Now, I would like to save the clothing so that the items may be used on other Genesis 8 characters, without all the refitting. The questions are How and Where? That is, do I save the items as Clothing Presets, or what? And, should I save them in a Subfolder under Genesis 8 named something like Clothing Presets, or should I save them in a clothing folder named Clothing Presets, or is that just my choice? Or, again, should they be saved as something other than Clothing Presets?

A Wearables preset will work, placement doesn't matter

I personally tend to create subfolders under FigureName/Clothes for G2M Converted Clothes, M4 Converted Clothes, etc. I usually save all the pieces as one wearables preset, and then when I want to work with that outfit, load it on the figure and delete the pieces I don't need, but that's out of laziness.

OK. Thank you both very much. I will try that and save it as a Wearbles preset.

Well, I tried that. There are several items to the costume. I selected them. When I went to save them as a wearables preset, the character they were on was checked. I unchecked the character, wanting only the clothing. Then, I saved as one wearables preset. I loaded a new character into a new scene. I selected the saved wearables preset and double-clicked on it. It came into the scene, but so did the previously unchecked character. If I try to delete the previous character, the clothing is also deleted. In other words, the clothing is attached to the previous character. What mistake or mistakes have I made, or how should I alter these procedures to save only the clothing and not the character with the clothing?

I've had that happen too, I don't know for sure what causes it. I think it happens when I try to save wearables without having the character selected. If you select the character and save as wearables, it should work from the assumption that you want to save all the things attached to the figure, and you can uncheck anything that doesn't belong (hair for instance).

OK. So I'll try it with the character selected.

OK. I got it working now. Made sure all the clothing items were parented to the first figure (apparently, they all weren't), which was a Genesis 3 figure. Then, saved as a wearables preset. Next, when I called up a Genesis 8 figure and then the wearables preset, each item came in but there was also an Auto Fit dialogue for each one. That worked out. I got each item well fit to the Genesis 8 figure.

Also, for the G 3 figure, I had put Fit Control morphs for G3 into the clothing. I tried putting Fit Control morphs for G 8 onto the figure, but could not. Then I thought of first removing the morphs for G3 Fit Control. That worked. Then, I installed the Fit Control morphs for G8 into the clothing. Yea! I got what I wanted. And the clothing was oritinally for David 3. Thanks for the help, Odaa and Richard.
