Imported Obj file needs bone rig

I imported an human character OBJ file from Iclone 6 and I am attempting to rig the character with bones so I can pose him within DAZ,

but I am struggling to find a basic step by step on how do this.  Any suggestions is welcomed and or video tutorials would help.

I found some videos on youtube, but they don't show how to rig a humanoid OBJ shape. please help!!

prob borrowing a DAZ figures rigging using the transfer utility the simplest way with just studio

if you can afford it the sure fire way is FBX import into Poser 11pro save as a cr2 load in DAZ studio edit rigging weightmapped dualquartonian save as support asset

My problem is that iClone won't export as a FBX file, only as an OBJ file.  So I was wondering if there is a way to copy the bones from another actor into mine...  I tried the transfer utility but to no avail.

you don't have pipeline or it is locked content?

otherwise 3Dxchange and Character Creator both export FBX

Yes I have 3Dxchange pipeline and Character Creator, but I soon discovered after all my hours of modeling and creating this character that some of the bones were locked and the

export license cannot be purchased.  So it would not let me convert to FBX.  and even Character creator won't accept the file cause its not in cc format.

  • Break the obj up into Groups in a modeling app and use the Figure Setup tab
