Apply operation to multiple selected items (Solved)

Hello,

I am sure this has been asked before, so apoligies that my search-fu is weak.

Right now, one of the frustrations I have with the Daz user interface is that when I select multiple items in the tree (e.g., a character and all the children items), and then click the eye to hide it or the arrow to make it not-selectable, it only applies to the single row I clicked.  (Because I selected multiple items, I explicity wanted my change (e.g., hide the item from the viewport) to propogate to all items.

How can I do this in Daz?

Thanks!

First you have to select all of the items you want to hide in the Scene pane. You can right click on an item and use Select>Select Children to help with that. I think you've accomplished that already. When you have of the items selected in the Scene pane, open the Parameters pane. In the Parameters pane, open the context menu (hamburger menu, little icon with arrowhead and 4 lines). Select Consolidate Properties (so it has a check mark next to it) and deselect Display Separate Items (so it doesn't have a checkmark next to it).

Then find the Display section of the Properties pane and expand it with the arrowhead. You should see a button labeled Visible. Click that button to turn all selected items On or Off.

Another thing you can do is (in the Daz Studio menus) Create>New Group and put your selected items in that Group. Visibility of all items in a Group can be turned on and off by changing the visibility of the Group with the eye icon in the Scene pane.

smiley I'm glad that helped. You can edit the thread title and add (Solved) at the end. (There should be a little gear icon to the right of the thread title to let you edit it.) This serves two purposes. 1) It tells people scanning the thread list that you no longer need help in this thread and 2) It helps other people with similar problems see that this thread has a solution posted in it.
