DAZ Connect Errors

Jason GalterioJason Galterio Posts: 2,562

I am having some issues with DAZ Connect that I can't decipher. Hopefully someone can assist me with these.

A lot of my items are coming up grayed out in the Install pane. Not as if they are waiting to be installed, but an empty picture frame with an exclamation point in the middle.

Nothing I do will make this symbol go away. Right click then Install does nothing. Updating database does nothing.

In some instances I can install the item with DIM, then uninstall it, then the item is available in the Install pane for installation. In other cases this makes no difference.

Some of the items are things that I have purchased then returned months back.

Some of the items aren't available in DIM, period.

Is there anyway to update this pane to show the correct information? It seems like its hitting dead files and I would just need to clean those out to fix this.

The U icon means that is User categorisation - you can get the vendor categorisation back by Edit>Preferences>Content tab>check Show Hidden Vendor Categorisation (Macs have preferences under the Daz Studio menu)

Thanks! I will give that a shot. I would never have figured that out on my own.

Tried this, but no luck. Nothing changed, even after closing DS and re-entering.

Then I'm not sure, other than the drastic reset database and reimport metadata.

I will give that a shot. I have no custom information in the database and most of the items were copied over from back up or recently downloaded. So no harm, no foul.

Okay, that was a bad idea. Resetting the database made me loose all of the DAZ Connect files. Reimporting meta data has done nothing...  So trying to recover now.

You may need to "reinstall", but the system should see that you have the current files so it should be a quick operation. That was part of why I said it was a drastic step.

I do need to reinstall. But it insists on re-downloading everything and ignoring the previous files.

Is the folder with the old Connect installs (the folder that holds the /Data/Cloud folder) set as a Daz Studio Format and a Poser Format content directory?

    It is.

Then it really should be using the local files (after checking them against the ones on the server, but that should be quite quick).

No such luck. It acts as if those files aren't there; redownloading and overwriting all of them. It took all night to process through just under 1,000 packages. I still have 7,000 left to go.
