Issue with G8F dForce Yukata stretching

RedSoulRedSoul Posts: 60

So, I have this from the Renderosity store: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/dforce-yukata-for-genesis-8-female/126307/

It looks fine, but if I move the legs too far, then it causes the outfit to strech like so:

Is there a way to prevent this? I'm also kind of new to the dForce stuff, so if that's the key, then I'm all ears.

Seems the maker of that Yukata didn't expect someone to move the legs to such extreme positions and therefore didn't leave the slit in front, but kinda "stitched" it together?

Could also be the simulation settings though, hard to decide from only pictures. And I don't own that set myself to check. The best idea would be trying to contact Deacon215 himself at Rendo, because that will probably be the best source for an answer...

Have you actually run a dForce simulation? (You need the dForce window open to do that - Simulate is near the top) I don't have that product, but if the picture is after a simulation then I've no idea other than Maikdecker's suggestion to contact the maker.

It does not look like you have actually run the dForce simulation.  If you want extreme poses like that it seems like you need to turn Self Collide to off for the Yukata surface otherwise some of the polygons stick to each other on the front.

Yeah, thanks everyone. It was indeed the dForce simulation. The Simulation tab wasn't even available in my workspace, so after getting it there and playign around with it, the stretching went away.

Though I tried with a Genesis 3 model that I autofitted the yukata to, and not only did the simulation slow down my system (to the point where I had to use Task Manager to close the whole program in the end), but the yukata morphed into some Lovecraftian blob devouring my poor model.
Nonetheless, I'll play around more with this.

The product page for the G8F yukata, like the G8M version state that dForce is required to use the yukata. I have both, and they work fine with dForce on my PC. You can see examples of renders in these threads: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/246151/looking-for-genesis-3-compatible-yukata-casual-kimonos-and-karate-uniforms#latest and https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3614136/#Comment_3614136 ; (There are four yukata here, on G3M and G3F, all with dForce applied)

These yukata work fine with the dForce default settings in Studio - for me at least. If you can not get it to work, try contacting the vendor at Rendo.

Edit to add that they do work reasonably well with G3, but sometimes can have distortions in the mesh.

Yeah, that was my fault for not understanding how dForce worked or how to get it started. I've figured that out now.

Also, for G3F, what auto-fitting options do you select?

When the autofit pane pops up, choose the "Original Figure" of "Genesis 8 Female", then as "Type Of Item" I use "Full Body".

Also, sometimes the autofitted clothing will deform after using dForce, and I either fix it in Studio with dForm or whatever works, or I fix it with post work in a paint programme.

This method instead of autofit can reduce the distortion on some clothes.  https://sickleyield.deviantart.com/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065
