How Do I Install Ron's Brushes?

Back at Hallowe'en I bought some of Ron's Photoshop brushes on special at the shop. I do not have Photoshop, but I do have GIMP, which is able to use Photoshop brushes.

Unfortunately, Install Manager is refusing to install the brushes.  It is looking for the proper Photoshop directory path, and can't it, so I get an error.

I would appreciate it if someone with Photoshop could tell me what the path is for the photoshop brushes.  Then I can make a dummy path to install to, and move the brushes over to GIMP from there.

Thanks.

Can't you just go to your product library and d/l them manually. Sorry, I don't ever use the DAZ install manager

There is 2 ways of doiung this, the 1st way to to use the manual download open to download the Zip File, Extract the files from the Zip and copy the .abr files over to GIMP's brushes folder,

And the second way it to disable auto installing in DIM then use DIM to download the file, then goto DIM's download folder, you will then file the Zip file, then folow the same proceedure as above to extract and install the brushes.

Install manager will not install Photoshop brushes in any case, so just go to your product library and download from there; use instructions given by Gimp. Make sure that Gimp says it can use brushes from the PS versions listed in Ron's products.

No, Install Manager will install brushes - as long as the path for Photoshop is set. If you don't want to use the brushes with PS you can just use that path to point to the folder you use for brushes, though you will get the standard Presets/Brushes or whatever it is that PS uses for brushes in the application folder.

  • Thanks. I managed to get them extracted.

    I appreciate the help.
