Question on Modifying a Pedestal

I'm currently working on a piece involving a pedestal with three buttons. The top portion of the pedestal is supposed to be cut at a 45 degree angle, and I swear I remember seeing a way to do it in Daz directly by applying an intersecting plane through the pedestal, but for the life of me I can't seem to find the proper tool and my google fu is failing me. Am I driving myself into a dead end or does anyone know what I'm referring to?

Unless one of Casual's scripts can do it (check the Freebies forum) I'm not aware of a way to perform that kind of edit inside DS.

Did you mistake the iray camera plane for a geometry edit? In that case, it's just a render engine setting to get around "I can't toggle that wall off to get the camera lens setting I need for the image" by making everything closer to the camera than that plane be invisible.

No, it was supposed to just be a basic geometry edit. Slap it on to the figure or object and anything past the plane was supposed to just be cut off. Ah well, better to know I'm nuts than my google fu has failed!
