Duf that requires original product

Ok I know that I am working with an old character but the muse called. I have generated morphs for my old friend emotiguy and added them to emotigirl as well. While I can create a package in Poser format that could be distributable leaving out the obj files and any original mat files I am new to this .duf format that I understand contains everything and would not be distributable. Is there a way to create the duf so it would pick up existing files requiring someone to have Emotiguy in their library? Best I could figure there is not enough interest in the set to consider selling it but I will look at making the largest freebie. For now in poser format unless someone has the information I need to create a .duf for it that would be distributable.

Try saving a .duf file and then temporarily move or rename the OBJ file - does the saved file load? I think it will probably complain, and that the .duf file will be pointing to the OBJ (or CR2) for the basic details; that certainly seemed to be the case with a hair model plus a weight map, only the weight map was in the .duf file, but that isn't how things used to be so I'd like some checking before you try distributing.

OK, so that sounds as if the data is being embedded. I'm not sure how you can share the morphs then, did Emotiguy have injection channels?

no enjection channels only the morph loader. I am working on a fresh copy of the emotiguy2018 I have decided to call him and of course make the girl as well. I seem to have lost it with the newer studio and don't know how to export poser files to change maps.... I am relearning everything and it seems The version I have of Emo is poser.  I found how to create the cr2 but how do I amke the pz2 files from studio. I seem to recall that it was possible. Is it no longer possible?

If you look in your Content Library tab under DAZ Studio Formats > "your content folder name" > Scripts > Utilities, Charles, you should see Poser Format Exporter. That utility will allow you to export to .pz2 format.

If you do not see the exporter in the location that I indicated, it should be available as a download from your Product Library here on the DAZ site. I don't recall whether it gets installed along with DAZ Studio or must be installed separately.

found it and as soon as I move some jpgs I will see if it will create the file I need. 3 to choose from one is for version 4

If you are using a recent version of DAZ Studio, it is the version 4 one you need to install.

got it installed and somewhat working. Now If I could save a prop in pp2.format I can complete a poser version. I have some attached toppers that in studio are .duf wearable but need to create a pp2 that puts it in place and makes emo/head the parent.
