Rendering issue
Since the installation of DAZ 4.6,have noticed on occasions certain
small artifacts in renders.
Usually they are of no consequence and can be taken
care of in Photoshop.
Today I hit the artifact "jackpot" can anyone tell me what these are.
No unusual lights or setting were used.

That appears to be Deep Shadow Maps artifacts, try switching to ray-traced shadows.
or just move the camera slightly and try again. That can sometimes help when using DSM's and getting artifacts like this.
I know you said photoshop can take care of the small ones easily, but it can for even this amount.
This is actually very common for me. I use deep shadows because raytrace takes exponentially longer. Adjusting the camera works generally, but it can still cause artifacts. And, if you're like me and use a locked camera for multiple story-board style renders, moving the camera is not an option.
The way I get around it is to render it, save it as an image, open it in photoshop and repeat 2-3 times. Make each it's own layer, and simply use the eraser on the artifacts on appropriate layers. I've never needed more than 3 renders to fix all the artifacts (they aren't in the same place every time) and it takes about 1/4th the time of using raytracing.
As a scientist I would be a complete failure.
Tried both at the same time, something worked.
Onward and Upward.
Thank you all for your help.
Fortunate in that locking the camera most times is
not a necessity.
I have noticed the same issue when rendering animations. Even when I change the camera angle I get artifacts but on different frames. Then I'll change a prop in the same scene and have a perfect render each time. Very strange.
The raytraced shadows will stop this so moving the camera might have helped, changing your shadow algorithm did solve it. I had this happen enough on long renders for so long I simply don't use shadow maps when I render in 3Delight, and this behavior has been present in the past few versions enough to know the "next update' probably wont fix it. The question is: Is 3Delight causing this or is the Daz Studio light with the shadow causing 3Delight to do this since only one of these bugs could be remedied by Daz3d, the other one needs to go to 3Delight if that's the case.
