Can't attach a picture

I've done it before--I had to resize the picture.  Now, even that doesn't work.  What's up?

Are you trying to upload an image, link to an image? What is your process? Do you get an error message?

When you attach/upload an image, there's a size limit of how large it can be in MB.

When you attach an image using the Attach a file at the bottom of the editor and then you choose file it looks like it is loading but then if the thumbnail doesn't show try posting your post. For the last few weeks this has been happening to me and when posted the attachment thumbnail shows up as the image has been uploaded after all.

Just doing it by clicking Attach a file, finding the file and uploading.  It shows uploading, then nothing.   I've resized and shrunk the picture down from 4.2 mb to 426k and the same thing.  :)

That's pretty much what is happening when I try to upload except I get no thumbnail, ever.

What pixel length per side do you have, and what image format? Logging out, restarting the browser, and logging in again in the shop (not the forum) had no effect?

Physical size is not too important.  KB size is   has to within 2mb to be accepted and in one of the accepted formats.  jpg, png and gif I believe.  I attach one of each to show,   THese are just selected at random from my HD.

Don't know if this is related, but the site used t not accept images if the file extension was in CAPS. This may or may not still be true.

Just solved my problem. So it's obviously still the case.

    Thanks.

  • This is happening to me also.  Image is 300K, all lowercase.  Testing it here now.

Certain special characters in file name can prevent uploading, alphanumeric plus underscore and hyphen should be safe.
