Klingong Bird of Prey for Poser and DAZ Studio

The Klingon Bird of Prey, from Star Trek III, Star Trek IV, and Star Trek: The Next Generation is now available as a Poser figure and DAZ Studio Prop. (Due to the large size of the zip files, these items are available at ShareCG.)

Model Features:
* Poser figure or DAZ Studio prop with 499,555 polygons.
* Not scaled to the size of the Poser/ DAZ figures.
* Panel lines and other details are modelled into the mesh.
* The wings can open and close with a dial on the Body.

Textures:
* One "scratches" texture map to add more detailing.
* The Poser version uses Poser shaders and the DS version uses Iray shaders.
* The model uses a unique mapping technique to colorize different sections of the same material without needing large texture maps.

Designed for use in Poser 6 and above or DAZ Studio 4.9 and above with Iray.

Original model by Chris Kuhn and converted with his permission.

Mercy, you and Kuhn have really been "goin' to town" with the Trek themed ship meshes lately!

I guess part of the polygon count relates to the series of interlaced "vanes" bridging the bulk of the aft section and the wings, especially since they raise and lower.  If they were "flocked" into one position as I've seen on some models, those vane assemblies could have been relatively simple "shells" of geometry.

    Sincerely,

    Bill
