How to create a D-Former

Hi,

Is there a video tutorial (anywhere), or documentation that shows the steps on how to create a D-Former to change facial features, etc.? Carnite has a great video posted on YouTube but skims over on what I want to learn and focuses on creating hills. It's probably the same concept, but I'm a newbie and need detailed instructions.
Thanks!

It's actually done the exact same way, just use the figure instead of a plane. Make sure you have the main figure selected when creating them, not a root bone.

There's a very crude one here (not very explanatory): http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/shaping/tutorials/create_morph/start

Ignis has another one here done on clothing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoGqfV8E7Co

    Hi,

I allready got that link related to a little different topic.
But I think, in the tutorial some essential steps are missing. The real point is between the creation of a new d-former and the final possibility to rellay deform parts of shape.
In the tutorial isn't any description how to apply the d-former to the nose of the genesis-child.

In my experiments I sometimes succeeded, but when I tried to repeat the steps, I didn't. And still don't have any idea why.
The second step then is to remove the d-former and the figure keeps the deformed shape.

Isn't there no step-by-step description? (complete description)

    Andrew

I've seen these two "tutorials" before. i think the problem is that there is an underlying assumption that those watching already know how to do this. Some crucial steps are missing and/or the individual whizzes through the steps and is very hard to follow.

Case in point - I managed to create a D-former BUT, there is no bone to select the nose so that puts an end to that.

If someone were to prepare a D-former for Dummies tutorial, that would be awesome!

    "Daz for Dummies"?

Andrew, I finally found a useful tutorial that shows the step-by-step procedure.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y18VtTZoFC4

The voice-over in the video is in German, but even with the volume off he clearly shows how to create the d-former and I was able to make a big-butt Victoria!

Aren't you funny, Novica! I'll just run all the audio through some translation software first!

The first 2 videos were very useful. The other two I just kept asking myself "what is the point of that?". I guess if I understood what he said it would have made sense.

Other than that, sure - I'd love to produce practical videos people can understand!
