Ultimate Grass + Reality + general problems

Has anyone used Ultimate Grass and Meadow Worldbuilder with Reality 4.3 sucessfully? Whenever I try to render even just a premade scene with no extra characters it exports about 7% then the log reads "Unable to find instance named 'NO_GUID'" about 75 times, then it continues to render the scene but obviously without whatever it was looking for because it looks completely awful. I've been running into a lot of issues with the Ultimate Worldbuilder in general even with Iray as well (CPU, GPU, both, it doesn't matter), I thought Reality might help but not at all.
I have a GeForce 970 and 16 gb of ram, about 50 gb available on a SSD drive. I feel like I should be running a lot faster than I am?

Ultimate Grass uses instances so I am not sure Reality can read them.
I didn't have any problem with Ultimate Grass myself and it renders fine for me. What issues did you have ?
You should go the this thread : ULTIMATE Grass & Meadow Worldbuilder & Animated Add-on [Commercial]
Oh, thanks for that - that makes sense (even if I don't understand it lol) because all the error messages I get in Lux are about instances.
I can render with Iray sometimes, but other times I get an access error or something, I don't remember the exact message. Other times it'll give me an error and crash Daz, but if I don't click the acknowledgement it will eventually start to render the file. I read somewhere maybe my GPU was running out of memory, but I'll get it using CPU too so I'm not sure what that's about.
Anyway thanks again I'll check that thread out. :)
Here's the error message I get:
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\libs\iray\libneuray.dll" at 0033:00000000FB7BC0CE, mi_neuray_factory()+4039486 byte(s)
Same one every time and it always happens before it renders anything after about 5 minutes of waiting.
After checking the forums/fora the message error doesn't seem to be linked the Ultimate Grass as I found 2 threads mentionning it before this product came out : https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/175401/4-9-4-iray-render-constantly-crashes-after-a-couple-renders and https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2400096/
This may help you : https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3597646/#Comment_3597646 (Also, using "Optimised for" should be set to memory, rather than speed. When I started the render using the speed optimization, after more than 5 minutes, the render hadn't started yet. With the memory optimization, the render took off within the regular time.)
Hope that helps you.
Oh thanks, I've been going back and forth with that setting.
Also I don't know if this means anything to you, but if I watch the progress of the render, if it is going to crash it will happen right around here, which is the point where it either pauses for a long time and continues to render, or Daz will crash:
This morning it seems to be working, but still pausing quite a long time (about 5 minutes).
Update: I switched to memory optimization, still on CPU processing only and it has started showing an image in about a minute! :) I don't know why it's working so well today I'll have to open some of the other scenes that were crashing it earlier and see what happens with these exact settings too.
Thanks again for your help.
I seem to get almost the same message (rendering Pre built scene midday) and it doesn't crash.
I render CPU only on my desktop because my GPU is too old and has only 1GB memory. My CPU is an i7-2600 and like you I have 16GB of ram.
Glad I could help a little.
So one more question for ya! Most of the time when I use ultimate worldbuilder there is a sky, but sometimes I notice I just get an alpha background where the sky should be. Have you experienced that, or is it just something I am doing differently maybe?
The sky is from the skydomes (HDRI provides lighting as well).
It's already there in the Pre-Build sets but otherwise you need you pick one from the Skydomes folder.
It seems like if I change the aspect ratio the dome will disappear from the pre-built scenes. When I went to reapply the dome it changed the render settings including the aspect ratio? Well whatever, at least I have a sky now thanks. :)
That's strange. I just tried it and it didn't disappear.
This is where the HDRI is under Environment map.
You can lock the aspect ratio (constraint Proportions) if you want.
