Interesting article for anyone who hasn't seen it yet and is interested in an overview of different render engines available currently here.

    Interresting but not only about render engines. It also speak about open standards which is crucial when you want to make every softwares speak the same language.
    There are some words about opensubdiv that is begining to be implemented in DAZ but also Alembic, OpenVDB, OpenEXR 2 and OSL that would be also nice addons but need time to be implemented

    I don't know if you also have seen the really good news for blender and Opensubdiv here
    Finally we may see Ptex and Opensubdiv in Blender

    No, I hadn't seen it yet, ty. That is something the Blender community has been waiting for. Hopefully the tools to integrate it will come soon now.

    I'm waiting for the first demo impatiently but complete implementation will take quite some time and I wouldn't expect that to be finished before at least next year
