Bulge Map issue?

I'm really familiar with Poser rigging, but a total newbie when it comes to "translating" everything to DS.
In the attached image I think I have what might be a bulge map issue. As you can see on the left, the shin bend looks great on the pants up to a 147 degree bend. Beyond that, the thigh of the pants starts poking through the shin.
I suspect the bulge map in the pants needs editing but I'm not sure where to make the adjustments. Can anyone help point me to where I handle this?
Thanks!

Which figure is it? The newer ones don't use bulge maps, as I recall.
It's G8. I transferred the weight maps using the Transfer utility, and for the most part it's bending well. But now I'm checking the limits and I'm getting this thigh funkiness with the shin bend. As the pic shows, the shin bend looks fine until I push it between 147 and 155 degrees (the upper limit)
I'm still learning DS so be patient with me. I know what I'd need to check in Poser, but still trying to translate Poser-speak to DAZ Studio-speak. I'm lost 8-)
PS ... Hi Richard, Long time no see! LOL
I suspect you need a custom JCM and/or to tweak the weight-maps.
Well that is where my question lies. I'm bending the shin, but the issue is in the thigh. The painting seems to have no effect on the thigh when the shin is selected, which is why I'm a bit confused.
I may go the JCM route ...
Aha. I discovered what is causing that thigh anamoly.
If I add a smoothing modifier to the pants, it helps smooth out the weight maps in other areas. However, it's also the smoothing modifier that is causing that weird bulge in the thigh when I rotate the shin above 147 degrees. Looks like a JCM might be my only option at this point.
Does switching the Smoothing Modifier from Base Shape Matching to Generic help (if you haven't already)?
LOL ... try as I may I can't find where I do that. So I guess I haven't done that yet
Parameters pane Editor tab>Mesh Smoothing group, there should be a button to switch the smoothing type between Base Shape Matching (the default) and Generic.
Ah thanks. Yeah I just tried that. It did change things, but now the bulging is happening a little lower on the leg.
EDIT: I increased the mesh density. That solved the issue.
