Hello everyone,
Recently, a friend of mine has decided to try out DAZStudio 4.6 for the first time. He has downloaded DS 4.6 64-bit here and installed it. All works well, but the problem he is having is where to find the folder to begin installing items for DS 4.6. He has installed DS on his C:, but we cannot find the My Library folder that contains things such as runtime, content, data, presets, etc. (all he sees is scripts in his My Library folder located in c:/users/(hiscompname)/my documents/DAZ3D/Studio/Mylibrary)
Can someone with knowledge on where to install his DS files help us locate the correct folders where to do so, so he can begin adding things to his DS 4.6?
Thank you for the assistance!

The content is not included with DS - he needs the Genesis Starter Essentials Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials, which should be available from the DS page in his Product Library or via the DAZ Install Manager. Note that DIM doesn't default to the same content folder as DS, so he will need to chnage its path (click the gear at top-right and use the Installation tab) or point DS to the DIM folder (right-click on DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats in the Content Library pane, choosing the Ad ... Directory each time, and select the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\My DAZ 3D Library each time).
Thank you Richard for the reply, Oooh, so thats why he wasn't seeing a My Library folder with runtime, presets, data, people, etc! Wow, I didn't know Gen 2 essentials was needed to creat such folders. I will let him know what he has to do, a BIG thank you for helping us out with this prob! :)
Thanks again, take care and have a great day!

Just to clarify, it's not that those packages create the folders uniquely, it's that the folders do not exist until something is put in them, and the Genesis starter stuff are the easiest place to start.
It's nothing to do with the folders, it's the content, without these files you won't have any. Note that there are two "essentials" files — one for the starter content which includes the original Genesis figure, and one for the new Genesis2 figure. You can install both, the Genesis2 installation does not interfere with Genesis.
Hello everyone,
Thanks for the replies, and ahh, I see now. Thats why he couldn't find anything like runtime, people, data, content folders because by simply installing 4.6, doesnt not give you anything. That makes total sense now! I'll talk with him later tonight and ask him to install both Genesis and Genesis 2 essential files, that way he'll have the mylibrary content appear to buy and apply future DS items.
Appreciate the help guys, thanks!
