Got Hexagon while it was free; gone from my product library

As the title says, back when Hexagon was free I downloaded it and fiddled around with it on my girlfriend's laptop, but never actually did much with it. Now that I need it I went to DL it and saw that it costs money now. "Luckily I got it before then!" I thought, triumphantly.

But it's missing.

Why is it missing?

Edit: It's not in my order history any more either. Am I imagining things?

DId you "buy" it throught the store system, or did you use the direct download link.

Still listed just fine for me and I got it while it was being offered for free also. I'd file a ticket and ask them to look into it if I were you.

I thought I "bought" it, but that's the only real answer I can think of. Alas, my short shortsightedness.

Do you save order confirmation emails, so you can check? Just in case the omission is a mistake.

As HoF says, you coluld try filing a support ticket. Did you check to see if you could trace and order for it, in your orders, from the top bar of your account dashboard.

I just checked and I can't find it. It's OK though, I'm not out of options. She might have the installer in her downloads folder still, she never empties that thing.

I'll file a ticket, but I don't have much hope. If I did do the direct download I don't know what kind of record they would have.

No , let's just hope she still has the download.

I am another who not only never clears her downloads folder, I also back it up, in duplicate on 2 different external HDs.

Wait a minutes.... they're actually going to CHARGE people money for a program as buggy and unstable as Hexagon, after having given it away for so long?

    1) Who in their right mind would BUY Hexagon
    2) I would be really pissed off if I paid money for what is essentially an abandoned piece of software that hasn't been updated in ages and shows no signs of ever being updated again.

I mean don't get me wrong, I find it to be a handy program for creating Daz content and it's easier to use than Blender but if I was faced with a choice of pay for a piece of crap like Hexagon or bite the bullet and tackle Blender's learning curve I'd bite the bullet.

The whole reason everybody gave Hexagon any slack at all was because it was free. Slagging on a free program is like looking a digital horse in the mouth.

Is Daz actively trying to make everyone a Blender user?

I just went and looked in my Product Library in My Account and it still shows Hexagon as being there. I guess if you "purchased" it but didn't download it then it deleted it from your account but if you "purchased" it and did download it then it keeps it there. My mind still boggles that they would charge people money for a program that hasn't seen an update since 2008. Either they're desperate for cash or...

...oh.... hey.... could it.... could it be.... could there be a HEXAGON 3 coming out? Dare we hope? Dare we dream?

Ghastly are you saying if I bought something or got it as a freebie but went through the store but don't download it from my accounts page that it will disappear forever?

I'm just saying that might be why it's not showing up in his Products Library. Maybe it's a matter of "use it or lose it" as they say. Good thing to know if I "purchase" any freebees. Download that sucker right away!

Except that OP stated that they'd dled it to their gf's computer and it may still be in her download folder?

Good point. Well I guess that shoots my theory out of the water. I'm stumped.

Once you have Purchased something through the store system it stays in your Purchase History, regardless of whether you do actually download it or not, and regardless of how much it cost at the time, even if that price was zero.

For those of you who are fairly new members and therefore may not understand why we are saying that it may not be in purchase History, there was a period during the Free Software offer that the downloads were being offered as a direct download, which did not require the customer to go through the store system to download the software, but could instead download it directly, with just one cllick on the download button on the offer page. This was done at the time because the servers could not cope with the volume of customers who were downloading the free software, so it was available from other servers. However because this was a direct download and not a store purchase as such, the details were not placed on a customers order history.

Okay that makes sense. That must be the explanation then.

OP: could you have bought it through your girlfriend's account? You mentioned you played with it on her computer so I'm wondering if it was her account that purchased it?

    There's another good possibility.
