Iray and gtx 1080 ti crash question

Ok let me start with my computer specks. 

X399 Taichi motherboard 

1950x Threadripper 

32gb of ram

Two gtx 1080 ti FTW3 gpu’s ( no sli )

 

so everything  is brand new and only 3 months old. It was rocking out iray renders easily and fast. But now after a few minutes in the iray live preview screen daz crashes. I tried the new drivers for the 1080 ti cards but they were not working so I rolled back the drivers. But still it crashes. Any info on how to solve this would be very helpful. I’m driving myself nuts!
