What software do I need to create short animated movies? Like the Gieko lizard advertisements. If you have time would you explain what each package does for the process? Thanx.

    There are countless dozens of ways to create animated movies. You could render the whole thing from start to finish in most popular modeling applications as many also have animation suites built in. You could render animation frames using Daz Studio and splice them together in Virtualdub or use Carrara to do the whole thing.

    Knowing your experience level and what software you are familiar with can help direct you to software and workflows which work to your advantage.

    I have experience with Blender, Unity 4, Iclone, etc. I am using DS for making game characters(low polys) and it is going fairly good. I would like to make some animated movies. What do I need? Iclone, 3dmax/maya( don't have the money). How do I get lip sync?
