How do I find out if drivers are up to date?

my computer was acting sluggish. How do I find out if it is slow because of old drivers? Or something else?
edit: what is a good security suite that is either free or has a free trial? I do not want to pay for something and find out it sucks.

Don't use third party software to install drivers.
Windows Update should really catch what you need. Nvidia (presuming you use) can be updated manually as the one installed by Windows is usually out of date.
A sluggish computer suggests all sorts of possibilities, none of which are out of date drivers.
A common one is a virus or some type of malware.
I used to use Kaspersky, but am dubious about them now - the company not the software as that rocks. I use ESET atm; don't like the free versions of what's available.
Avast is good and has a free version, so you can try it first
Also the paid for version does tell you, after you have done a full scan, what problems you have which could be slowing down your PC. Not sure if the free version does.
Trying avast and malwarebytes. I found a mcafee software installed on my computer. It was mcafee live safe which I do not know how I got or what it is.
I think it's probably a bad idea to have more than one antivirus on the same computer. Like in Ghostbusters when he said "don't cross the streams", yeah that kind of bad. You should only do it if the world is about to end and you don't have anything to lose anyway.
Yes i use avast for maybe more then ten years now if not longer, i was so happy with this product i got a pro version. I cant remember when teh last time was when i had a virus on my computer. I do have to admit i have had some malware (Chrome was replaced with a hacked version) But using malwarebytes solved that issue. So this combo is verry good. You can also try CCleaner to see what is up.
If you are known with PC's you can use hijackthis to analyse your pc and see what processes are running and/or get started when you boot your computer. JUST BE VERY CAREFULL! It is a very dangerous tool (or can be) if you dont know what you are doing.
Mcafee does not play nice with anything else, not even malwarebytes and it does try and get itself installed with all sorts of other programs, you have to be very wary when installing things, check each step other wise you will get mcafee all over the show.
Well tried to us computer today but keyboard and trackpad not working. I am home now but wondering where my wireless keyboard and mouse adapter is. The only keyboard I found the space key is messed up so it does not always work. I got the wireless keyboard at Amazon. I called Amazon but they said to call the manufature of the keyboard and that is HP. The computer is from HP too, so once I figure out the usb problem I can ask them about the built in keyboard issue. I am on hold for right now.
I only have hardware warrenty on the computer but not for software or that type of thing. I am also going out of town for the weekend.
I am thinking of checking HP's website if they have drivers for my HP notebook.
